Sandra Bullock plays a very dominant role in both The Proposal and The Blind Side. She is a strong female role in both of these movies. In Anne Fletchers movie The Proposal she tells a story of a New York editor and her assistant. The main character, Sandra Bullock, is a Canadian immigrant who is being deported. Her character, Margret, comes up with an elaborate and supposedly simple scam in order to keep her job. Margret drags her assistant, Andrew, into the mix as they both try to get what they want, without to much damage. The Blind Side directed by John Lee Hancock, is a film based on a true story. Leigh Anne Tuohy, a southern, wealthy, white women is taken on a very unexpected journey when she picks a large black boy, named Michael, on the side of the street. She invites him into her home with her husband and her two kids. With potential scholarships for Michael to play football in …show more content…
The Proposal had music that fit the scenes really well. When people where talking there was subtle instrumental music in the back ground. When the actors where not talking the music was louder with words to fill in the silence quite nicely. The Blind Side had a great mix of music. There was dramatic music to fit the dramatic scenes. Fun music to go along with the upbeat scenes. The mix between old and new music has a great appeal on all generations. Both soundtracks were done with a lot of thought and carful placement. Sandra Bullock plays a song female role in both movies. In The Proposal Margret is a very opinionated business women focused on herself. Unfortunately her character and Ryan Renaldo character did not seem as realistic desired. While there acting for the plot was believable the acting for the movie was less so. In The Blind Side Sandra Bullock as well as the other actors fit in the roles very well. The southern accents and the strong personalities made for a believable story and also kept me
Dalton Cowan Introduction World events that transpired from January 1942 to November 26, 1942, which was the time period from the rights of Casablanca being purchased until its world premiere. On January 1, 1942, the United Nations is formed by 26 Allied countries (“World War II in Europe”). When it comes to films, I feel as if the soundtracks make them what they are. A film in which I feel as if the soundtrack shapes the overall effect of the film is "Waiting to Exhale." Waiting to exhale was a movie about four African American women who were all through different things in their lives from men, their jobs and family. There friendship bonded all of the women together and when they got together the could just exhale everything that they have been holding in this whole time and just be themselves without having to worry about anything else. The musical technique in which I feel they used is connecting the soundtrack to real life situations.
As Michael grew up in the rough part of Memphis, he struggled until Leigh Ann came into the picture. Both characters are the focus point in movie, as the novel. The author of The Blind Side Michael Lewis, and director of the movie John Lee Hancock both did a fascinating job in their respective areas with the motion picture winning a golden globe as the novel became a New York Times
In life, people often feel older or younger than they actually are. Susan Eloise Hinton, more commonly known as S.E. Hinton, was fifteen when she started writing The Outsiders. She was born on July 22, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When she was younger, there wasn’t a lot for a child to do in Tulsa, so Hinton turned to reading and writing at an early age. Afterwards, when she got into high school and started writing
What’s so well done is the solid chemistry that is created in their scene together. While intended or not, she makes one think of Annie Hall and the character of “Summer” in 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. One wonders if her role should be a bit expanded. Maybe Leonard calls her and she keeps reminding him of their agreement. This would reveal his obsessive personality and create more anticipation about their relationship.
Film music commonly referred as film score, is basically an original music that is normally incorporated in a movie to accompany a film to form part of the soundtrack of a film. According to Kurt London, film scores were created to remove the projectors noise in a film. The noise was a nuisance as it disturbed visual enjoyment during a performance in the auditorium. Since they did not have recorded sounds they used a pianist to create music while the film proceeded. Therefore they thought of introducing film music so that it could eliminate the noises.
Although there are many differences between the two, there are also many similarities. Like how in both the movie and the novel she outsmarts the
Foster prayed the role of Iris was controversial character because she played a role of twelve years old as a prostitute who was only thirteen years old at the time. Also she was first nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress which became popular after playing the role in the “Taxi Driver”. However, this film simultaneously influenced various aspects for Jodie. John Hinckley Jr had a paradoxical longing for Jodie Foster who played the role of a twelve years old prostitute “Iris” while he repeatedly watching the “Taxi Driver”. Hinckley became obsessed with Foster while Foster attended Yale University, his stalker has gradually become worse and lose his control.
The music gets very intense sounding. It’s echoey and creepy which makes it similar to the book as they are both trying to make the place seem erie even though they are a bit different. The order is a bit different but the same scenes
In the film. The Blind Side. Michael has to overcome many challenges to achieve his goal of playing NFL football. Discuss the obstacles he faced throughout his life to fulfil his dream. How does he overcome these?
Another person’s notes on Shallow Hal After seeing ads for "Shallow Hal," several friends complained to me about what they saw as an offensive concept: If Hal (Jack Black) has been brainwashed to see only a woman's inner beauty, then why does that inner beauty have to look just like Gwyneth Paltrow? Paltrow plays Rosemary, an obese woman in everyone's eyes but the spellbound Hal's; he sees the slender blond Paltrow that we're so used to seeing in movies and on magazine covers.
The Blind Side is a heart-wrenching, family, film about American Football Player, Michael Oher; an underprivileged, African – American boy, who is taken in by a white, privileged, family. Through his experiences, Michael recognises the true meaning of family and what privilege taste like, however, he has also faced prejudice against himself but he is not only who experiences prejudice. Leigh – Anne Tuohy’s has suffered prejudice due to her privileges while her ‘friends’ comment on Michael being a ‘charity work’, and the privileged ten to forget about the prejudice thus showing that prejudice cannot exist without privilege. Being privilege can create prejudice against someone. Earlier in the movie, Michael and Leigh – Anne decide to go back to Hurt Village, Michael’s hometown.
In my opnoin I think whenever I seen a movie with Melissa Mcarthy in it i always have a laugh. This movie out of the many shows that even if you are a women behind the desk and you are chosen to save the world that Melissa Mcarthy will always make a comedy out of this. I love how they put Rose Byrne in this because she played in the new version of “Annie”
The way he set up this movie was by making music to to go along with the characters and ideas. With so much happening during the movie, there would need to be numerous amounts of musical elements to go along with
Michael then grabs her hand, which she willingly takes, and leads her out the front door all while her husband is yelling at her in the background. She gets in the blue VW van with Michael, still in her wedding dress, and they drive away without another word. This leaves the viewer with several questions. Who was Michael?
