I 'm writing this essay because i am interested in becoming a red cross volunteer and would love the opportunity to experience volunteering at Walter Reed Hospital. I was in this program last year and i was put in the Radiology department and it was really great experience i was exposed to so much and i learned so much last year. I want to be in this program again because when i get older i want to work in a hospital and although i learned so much last summer there is still a lot i can learn, see and experience. I got the chance to work in breast imaging where I improved my communication and computer skills thats where i mostly spent my time at.

I have a wide variety of experiences that I know will be of great asset to The United Way. In my most recent position I was working with a start-up and know what it is like to be with a growing organization. With this start-up, I’ve had to immerse myself in learning complex systems in a limited amount of time. It’s allowed me to refine the way I approach obstacles, so I can absorb and apply the information to best serve the company. Reflecting on my previous positions, I know that I was the happiest when I was involved in an organization called Break the Barriers.

I choose to focus my project upon because I volunteer for the organization annually and have observed leadership styles of program leaders. The Salvation Army K&WM aim to encourage individuals and communities as a whole to be self-sufficient and maintain basic standards of living by offering the following programs: Emergency Assistance, Community Center, Homeless Services, Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Children 's Shelter. This project will assess each programs areas of strength and weaknesses. Areas of Strength: The Salvation Army constantly offer new, innovative products or service to areas of poverty. The Salvation Army has a wide array of professional networks through which resources can be shared and communication can be exchanged regarding the organizations services.

I have experienced positive and negative experiences, but through practicing new tasks that my field requires, I have been able to gain new skills in communication and writing. I am currently a software engineer and I am fully aware of the strong communication skills that are necessary to succeed in this occupation. Each day I use what I have learned to be a better communicator, but I know that there is so much more to learn so that I can be a better writer and communicator within my career. I know the importance of communication and these communication skills can be translated in everyday life because when working with others everyone needs to communicate to ensure every task is being completed successfully. I have learned how to cooperate with a diverse group of people, no matter the circumstance. This has equipped me for life inside and outside ringette as I know how to be professional and civil with everyone that I encounter. In line with this, I have learned how to keep calm and controlled in frustrating situations. Self-discipline and good sportsmanship can be very beneficial to ensure one stays classy without showing weakness to others.

After earning my Associates Degree from Miami Dade College I was overjoyed with excitement on my accomplishment and my new goal of continuing my education to achieve a 4-year degree. I applied and attended Florida International University in the pursuit of getting a Bachelor in Fine Arts and in Computer Science. However, after my first semester I realized that over time I grew disinterested in my major. Around this time of my life I was fortunate to have met a firefighter at my local church. We were helping out in the church at the time and we started to talk.

Initially, I have well-created communication aptitudes that have ended up being exceptionally useful over the span of my work in the health and social care environment. Now, it merits specifying the way that communication abilities helped me to set up positive relations with clients and give them health care as well as with advising administration.
