Throughout the play, Romeo takes multiple actions and bases the reactions on fleeting thoughts which eventually leads to death. Romeo acts impulsively after getting the news that he is banished from Verona for the killing of Tybalt. Romeo didn't think twice before saying he would die if he was not with Juliet. This quote shows how Romeo gets upset and doesn't think twice when talking. “Hadst thou no poison mixed, no sharp. Ground knife,/ no sudden mean of death, though ne’er so mean,/ but “banished” to kill me-” banished”?/ O Friar, the damned use that word in hell;”. He is overwhelmed from being sent away from Juliet. Not only is Romeo acting emotionally impulsive, but also physically. Romeo did not think his actions would lead to the death of Tybalt. After getting in a messy fight with him and killing him as revenge for the death of Romeo's friend Mercutio. “I beg for justice, which thou; Prince must give;/ Romeo slew Tybalt, Romeo must not live./ Romeo slew him, he slew him, he slew Mercutio;/ who now the Prince off his dear blood doth owe?” (3.1.117-180). The quote shows how Romeo kills Tybalt in revenge for Tybalt killing Mercutio; this was another way Romeo acted impulsively. All in all, the quote shows how Romeo acts impulsively and he does not think things through, leading to the death of Juliet and
Romeo, an overly dramatic character, is one who does not think things through. Romeo’s death was caused due to Friar Laurence, who failed to send a letter informing Romeo that Juliet was simply in a death like sleep. Romeo, being one to jump to solutions stated, ‘Noting this penury, to myself I said, “ An if a man did need a poison now”… (Shakespeare 5:1 Lines 51-52)’.
Tybalt tries to kill Romeo and says that he will die when they fight. Before they fight Romeo says, “This shall determine that,” knowing that he is the better swordsman and will win the fight. (3.1.123.). Another instance of Romeo murdering people on impulse is when he kills Paris. Romeo does this because Paris doesn’t leave the cemetery when he tells him to, saying, “Put not another sin upon my head by urging me to fury.
When Tybalt lays eyes on Romeo he immediately feels the urge to kill him. Tybalt sees Romeo at the Capulets dinner party, so out of rage says ¨I´ll not endure him¨ (I.v.73). Clearly, this shows that Tybalt does not want Romeo alive. Tybalt will only be satisfied with Romeo dead. Later on in the play, Tybalt marches the streets to find Romeo and querell, when he then says ¨Romeo the love
Is love at first sight to die for? In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, there is a fued between the Capulets and Montagues that has been going on for years prior. The two young lovers who fall in love at first sight and marry the next day, Romeo and Juliet, just so happen to be a Montague and Capulet. They go through troubles to ensure they will be together, but things don’t go as planned for them and ends with them tragically killing theirselves. The two young lovers themselves, along with Lord Capulet are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Romeo’s impulsive nature gets him into trouble so he starts acting purely off of his emotions. Lastly, Romeo choosing to act off of emotion rather than logic leads to multiple deaths. When Romeo hears the news of Juliet’s death, he immediately decided he wanted to die with her. He sets out to find poison so he can lay himself to death in the Capulet's tomb. He drinks it, and with a final statement Romeo declares, “Here’s to my love [drinks] O true apothecary!
If you read the story, you would know that if Romeo just kept his anger controlled he wouldn't have died. Insignificantly ahead of the fight between Tybalt and Romeo, Romeo stated, "Either thou or I, or both, must go with him." (3.26.89) Romeo meant that either you or I have to die and keep Mercutio company. Mercutio was dead, so Romeo was threatening Tybalt. Romeo angered Tybalt
Love at first sight is the most dangerous type of love. The long story of “Romeo and Juliet” is about a boy falling in love, Romeo with a girl, Juliet. They want to be together but cannot because of their families conflicts. Regardless of this they will not let this affect them and try getting together behind their families backs. Later on Romeo gets banished and they get separated but they come up with a plan.
Tybalt (killing Mercutio) would have died even if Romeo didn't kill him because of the Prince's new law. " Not Romeo, Prince, he was Mercutio’s friend. His fault concludes but what the law should end, The life of Tybalt." (2.5.189-191) Romeo's father (Montague), tries to defend him by saying the law would kill Tybalt anyway, making Romeo banished not dead, which does help Romeo, but Romeo runs to the Friar and says he would rather kill himself. In Romeo's mind, all he wanted to do was avenge Mercutio's death
What Romeo does not know is that Juliet is actually very much alive, and makes up not 5 minutes after Romeo kills himself. Consistent with his character, Romeo acts impulsively, and kills himself as he was blinded by love. If he had not acted impulsively here, He and Juliet would be together, both alive and well. This is yet another consequence experienced by Romeo for acting impulsively. In conclusion, Acting impulsively for one’s desires leads to many bad events because it does not allow a situation to play out to its fullest extent.
Romeo then attacks Tybalt, which later on Romeo kills Tybalt (Act 3 Scene 1). When Romeo killed Tybalt that made Romeo get banish from Verona. As you can see, Romeo can be impulsive at
I think that Romeo was just mad and wanted revenge and did not have the time to think. Romeo is worried about his relationship with Juliet and how it will end between them, but if Romeo was not an impatient character he would not have to worry about that because he would have known better not to have killed
This quote shows that Romeo believed he could not possibly live without Juliet. Instead of waiting for an explanation, or calming down, he poisons himself. This reckless decision eventually leads to the death of Juliet as well. If Romeo had thought about his decision more, both Juliet and he could have lived. Another excerpt
He presses Friar Lawrence with his belief that banishment is much worse than execution. Romeo further expresses his anger by saying that “the damnèd use that word [banishèd] in hell” (Shakespeare 3.3.47). 2. From the beginning of the play, Romeo acts impulsively. In what way is he still impulsive in this scene?
Now Tybalt, take the villain back again That late thou gavest me; for Mercutio’s soul Is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him.” Romeo is ready to kill Tybalt and let his rage guide his actions. Romeo acts rashly again and doesn't over think anything that can possibly happen because he let his rage take over him. This impetuous act affects Romeo because in the upcoming scenes Romeo is banished from Verona and has to live in Mantua which puts Romeo as well as Juliet in a tight situation with not many possible
Do you believe in love at first sight? Romeo and Juliet did and it lead to both of their deaths. Romeo believed that he was in love, a feeling he had never truly felt before. As a young teen, you could expect that he would make some irrational decisions, but nothing like what he did to be with who he believed to be his true love.
