Police Brutality is defined as being the abuse of power by the unwarrant finliction of excesscive usse of force, by an indivual that is involved in law enforcement, while in the emidst of performing their official duties. The term "excessive use of force" means a force that is well beyond what would be considered as being necessary in order to handle a situation. The term can also be abblied to abuses that havee been perpretrated by corrections professilas in state, federal, millitary and muncipal prisons. The word brutality has several different meanings. However, in the context of police brutality, it means savage or cruelty.

Police Brutality is the wanton use of excessive force, usually physical, but also common in forms of verbal attacks and psychological intimidation, by a police officer. Police brutality has been in St.Louis since 1917 back when there was still slavery and segregation laws,

When situations like this happen the media most of the time does not show the full story. Our view of police brutality is affected by the media in the sense that nowadays, when something happens, people pull out their phones and all they see is the “bad” part of what’s going on. The reason the media does this is to get the attention of the people.

More often than not, in police brutality or police misconduct, the abuse is more subtle than a torturing aspect. Sometimes, the officers will simply push limits and boundaries in order to recieve a statement from a witness. Similar to prosecutors, officers of the law are assigned the task of making sure our society is as safe as it can be. Occasionally, their determination to keep the city safe can sometimes lead them to crossing the line and abuse the power of their badge.

Many People in the United States has been victims of police brutality, being accused of committing a crime you did not do just because of how you look. Or, being treated differently just because of where you are from. Regardless of how you look, Police Officers are there to help people, not hurt them. This is affecting many people in the United States, many have been victims or has a relative that experienced this. Police Brutality is using excessive or unnecessary force when dealing with civilians.

The excessive use of force by police officers persists because of overwhelming barriers to accountability. This fact makes it possible for officers who commit human rights violations to escape due punishment and often to repeat their offenses. In recent years, the United States has seen countless acts of police brutality, such as the most recent case study captured on video in a high school classroom.

Police Brutality is a problem in the US because it is used when it does not have to be, Some cases of police using force are not included in records, and when force is used people could be hurt or killed. Many police officers decide that it is best to use force. Even when it is not required. An innocent man asked a police officer to move his vehicle out of his driveway and the officer forced him out of his house.

The definition of brutality is “savage physical violence; great cruelty.” Therefore, when policemen start beating people brutality it means they are using massive physical abuse or force towards others. Studies shows that eighty-four percent of police officers stated that they witnessed officers using more force than necessary. Out of the eighty-four percent, sixty-one percent of officers stated they do not always report the abusive force that has been used. Meanwhile fifty-two percent of officers stated that it is usual for them turn a blind eye towards the conduct used from the officers.

Minorities in the community have been subjected to violence by law enforcement in the United States for some time. This violence is called police brutality and it is unacceptable. The job of a police officer is to maintain public order, prevent, and detect crime. They are a part of a dangerous and stressful career that can involve risky situations that must be controlled. Sometimes police are put in situations that excessive force is needed.

Police brutality will be an issue until a solution is created. Many individuals are victims of this form of assault on daily basis. The liberties held by law enforcement are challenged each time they perform their duties. Police officers should abide by the same laws that each citizen is expected to abide by. Although police officers are granted with the right to determine laws as constitutional, civilians are sometimes treated in ways that are beyond unlawful.

Police brutality remains a common yet controversial topic around the world. It’s a topic that segregates communities and makes each other their enemy. Specifically, a white officer has been the enemy of the black community. Unfortunately, the tension between police and blacks grew over the past few decades.
