This semester I read a total of seven books. Last semester I read the same amount of books as I did this semester. The hardest book for me to read was Cover of Snow by Jenny Milchman. This book was difficult for me to read because it was a genre that I am not used to reading. I also thought this book was difficult to read because it uses dense details that were hard to understand. Even though this book is only 200 pages it was cover to cover of elevated, thick diction. The next book that I thought was difficult was Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. This book was difficult for me to read because it was very broad, it uses a format that was difficult for me to read and it uses elevated diction that I could not always understand. This book was not too hard but not too easy. This is because the author uses casual diction because it is in the eyes of a teenage boy. However, the book contains many character that introduce to you one page and then never mention them again. There are a lot of characters which makes it confusing when you read. Also something else that makes this book difficult was that it was longer than most books I read. The next book is The Forgotten Girls by Sara Blaedel. This book was one of the easier books that I have read, this is different because it is long and a genre that I am not used to reading. I think I read this quickly and easily because it uses casual diction and it is captivating and interesting. This book is dark and not a book I would just pick off the shelf, but I think this is one of my favorites. The book that I thought was fairly easy to read is So B. It by Sarah Weeks. This book is short and in the point of view of a little girl, it uses casual diction but there are many parts of the book that lacked detail. Also this book was a mystery which is a different genre that I usually read, which takes me longer to comprehend
