This semester I read a total of seven books. Last semester I read the same amount of books as I did this semester. The hardest book for me to read was Cover of Snow by Jenny Milchman. This book was difficult for me to read because it was a genre that I am not used to reading. I also thought this book was difficult to read because it uses dense details that were hard to understand. Even though this book is only 200 pages it was cover to cover of elevated, thick diction. The next book that I thought was difficult was Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. This book was difficult for me to read because it was very broad, it uses a format that was difficult for me to read and it uses elevated diction that I could not always understand. The chapters/ letters …show more content…
This book was not too hard but not too easy. This is because the author uses casual diction because it is in the eyes of a teenage boy. However, the book contains many character that introduce to you one page and then never mention them again. There are a lot of characters which makes it confusing when you read. Also something else that makes this book difficult was that it was longer than most books I read. The next book is The Forgotten Girls by Sara Blaedel. This book was one of the easier books that I have read, this is different because it is long and a genre that I am not used to reading. I think I read this quickly and easily because it uses casual diction and it is captivating and interesting. This book is dark and not a book I would just pick off the shelf, but I think this is one of my favorites. The book that I thought was fairly easy to read is So B. It by Sarah Weeks. This book is short and in the point of view of a little girl, it uses casual diction but there are many parts of the book that lacked detail. Also this book was a mystery which is a different genre that I usually read, which takes me longer to comprehend
The book has many characters with very different personalities. The book has unexpected twists and turns throughout it. The novel involves kidnappers, a dragon and (of course) the 5 children from Miami that know nothing about what they’re getting into. This book started out as, a fairly normal story.
Overall, the book is a great read, even for those who do not enjoy
The writing in the chapters is very detail oriented and it makes it very easy to imagine what is going on. A lot of times throughout the book it seemed like I was right there, or it seemed like I was watching a scene from a movie.
I would highly suggest reading this book since it will make you realize that society isn’t always good. It will make you truly think of how Society was in that time period. It really influences you and let’s you know higher and better vocabulary. This book is confusing to read but overall it’s a good book. If you really like high-level reading then you should go for this book definitely.
I think this book was well organized in its chapter and sub chapters. For a guy who despises reading, this book was not that tough as read as I expected especially for it being about history and non-fiction. There was nothing for me to be excited about going in, but I got through it without much struggle. The book had some weird names, some Latin words, and some unusual vocabulary. Other than a couple of words, this book was an easy to understand, thus making it an easy read.
Although the book 's pacing starts out a bit slow, it quickly gains speed when the conflict is introduced. The wording used in the book is easy to comprehend yet it never seems to be over simplified. The plot is engaging enough to keep the reader’s attention but also manages to be easy to follow. I found that even though the book dragged in portions it was still an overall satisfactory read. I greatly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys books of the YA
This book was interesting for me because it allowed me to relate to a character. I love reading novels that not only allow me to feel a connection with a character, but allow me to relate to their personality or
Probably the most difficult part was the frustration that came with attempting to memorize something so long. I would become very frustrated with myself every time that I got a line or section of the poem wrong. I have always been a perfectionist when it came to school work, so that when I got a line wrong it was frustrating. It also took me longer to memorize the poem than I thought it would. It took me about two weeks to memorize the poem without lots of mistakes.
Additionally, all of the thoughts are expressed in a well-organized manner; thus, making the descriptions flow with ease. It is quite impressive that Wise uses a variety of complex sentence beginnings; thus, demonstrating his ability as a writer. In doing so, he reduces some of the monotony. Conversely, I feel that the book was quite repetitive in nature and several of the descriptions were not as concise as they could have been. Notwithstanding, all of the information appeared to be consistent, I do not believe that it was necessary to repeat all of the details multiple times.
The book encompassed interesting literature and vocabulary which I did not know previously such as ell and misnomer. Frederick Douglass experienced a laborious and burdensome life consisting
and I had no idea what it was about just based off of the title. It was an easy read, and I enjoyed reading it at the same time. It always had you curious as to what will happen and how everything will play out. Through the whole book, it keeps you curious as to if he will get convicted or not and you do not find out until the very end. The only downside is that I did not like the way it was written.
I would recommend this book to any teenage girl who won’t mine wasting tissues for tears and will not mine getting angry at characters. I would recommend this book to a teenage girl because of all of the romance and usually boy aren’t in to those things. If you are up for the challenge, I will recommend this book to you. All I have to say if you decide to read this novel, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride through a page-turning journey, the loops the author puts you threw from her described word choice and the swift pace you’re put on by the
Snowpiercer Assignment The film Snowpiercer was released in 2014, about a train that circles the globe year after year. The population that live among the train, are the only survivors of an Ice Age caused by the release of CW7. The release of CW7 caused the freezing of everything on earth, except for the Snowpiercer. The train is run by the engine that never stops created by Wilford.
When the wind begins to nip at your face, when the sky becomes a light grey, when all life seems to be hidden away, one knows that there is a high chance of snow. Plants seem to lose their color and become as barren as that of the sky. Animals and humans seem to burrow up from the cold weather outside. But one can only anticipate the white flurry substance coming from the sky. Snow is a magical thing.
As the result of my experience this semester I can conclude that this experience was a life changing experience. The way I viewed things in the past about the environment has changed. In the past I was not aware of the importance of living a more sustainable life. Also, how protecting our environment is one of the today’s most serious issues. Some of issues and information that I learned throughout this semester was the web life, food web, overpopulation, mutualism & commensalism, climate change, pollution, rainforest & sea destruction, and the extinction of many animals and plants.
