A church is commonly referred to as a building used for public Christian worship. However, many people refer to a church as an organization. The Redeemed Christian Church of God Family Praise Chapel (RCCG) is a sanctified family church, not an organization located in Decatur, Georgia. This church is managed by a pastor named Adefila, but as a family church, everyone does everything possible to sustain the church. RCCG Family Praise Chapel 's mission as a church is to strengthen marriages and families, encourage Christian fellowship, evangelize, and minister to the needy.

The floor upstairs is where the children 's service takes place, while the base downstairs is for the adults. Entering the first floor, there are two fired stairs to climb to go into the church supported by steel handles. The two fired stairs are made of bricks, attached together and in a pale grey color. The brick has threads that are about 6-inch high, 4-inch wide, 8-inch long that are designed to be laid horizontally on the ground. Going into the church, are two white doors in a very small building attached to the main church with the handles made with steel. The shape of the building is a square, pink roof is in a triangular shape. There’s a 5 foot high table by the left and has some church flyers, cards, and the church calendar on it. In this same building, there are colorful flower vases everywhere. On top of that square building is a 6 foot tall white statue in the shape of a cross on top of it sitting on the square building that people can easily notice it, but people just have a habit of not caring about the symbol of their Christianity right in their

While being an intern at Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), I have had hands on experience writing press releases, being able to pitch a story, create images on Canva to be used on the Instagram page, and being a part of meetings that discuss detailed images of the Spring/Summer issue of the Mt. Spirit Magazine. (CAP) has shown me that even little detail matters even if it means changing the words “poor people” to “people in need” makes a big differences when describing the region of Appalachia. I think that the biggest event that resonates with me the most is that (CAP) helps people in need by having repairs done to their home, having a hunger walk, accepting kids into their week long summer program, having a food pantry and providing clothing.

Isidore E. Sharpe Professor Kenneth Yelverton CH 103: African-American Church History 13 January 2018 The Religious Dimension and Black Baptists 1. What is the "Black Sacred Cosmos"? The "Black Sacred Cosmos" is a part of religion, which involves the African American human beings. This religious dimension deals with both the sacred and their African heritage, which form a mental picture of the whole universe as holy.
Roman Catholic services are held in sanctuaries that are richly decorated with artwork, crosses, statues, candles, incense, and kneeling benches. The elaborate decorations in the sanctuaries have a lot to do with the Catholic practice of worshiping icons. Catholic members also offer their prayers to Mary and the saints as well as to God during service. The services are very ordered and laid out, with much more participation by the church members during the service. Southern Baptist churches usually have few paintings and are usually decorated in a simple fashion such as they usually do not have any statue of saints or God himself but only have a cross symbol on their altar.
RIIINNNGG!! The buzzing alarm sounded at 6:30, and I frantically jumped out of bed eager to begin my first missions trip. I scurried down the stairs with my bags and jumped into the car en route to Eureka High School to meet the team I would be experiencing my journey with for the next week. When I arrived at the school, a few friends of mine were waiting, but most of the people I had never seen in my life. My heart started to pound against my chest as I suddenly became nervous, second guessing myself on deciding to come on the trip in the first place.
Julio’s comment about the treatment of women in the Pentecostal church shows how religion has manipulated women like Blanca into positions where they are expected to be directed and restrained by others. The inclusion of the pastor in the list of glorified roles shows that religion is held to such a high degree that it should be included on the same level of need as any other family member like a husband or child. Religious followers often have specific symbols that represent their religion in their lives or an object that they hold sacred because it represents their faith in their beliefs. However, the people of the Pentecostal church have placed their representation of faith into the pastor and made
Passionate Church groups For my ethnography essay I have chosen to observe and write about a Christian church group known as the Dynasty youth ministry. They are a Christian church group that is located in Yuma, AZ with members usually being young high school students to early adults. I have chosen this topic because me personally I have never really attended church so I thought it would be a great way to learn more about religion, and also a great way to learn how passionate one can be about church and maybe it will encourage me to persuade someone who is distant from god to join.

Taking place in front of a large, cathedral church Bethke did not have to directly call out the church because his setting does it for him. Churches come in all different shapes and sizes however this church was grand and large. Jefferson writes, “Because if grace is water, then the Church should be an ocean. It's not a museum for good people—it's a hospital for the broken” (CITE). This church looks similar to many Catholic churches who take the most persecution from society.
Thank you for reaching out to me and explaining the current situation at Grace Fellowship. Even though the church may be experiencing some difficult times in terms of finances and membership, I know that God is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us” (Eph. 3:20, ESV). Grace Fellowship is a part of His Church, and I believe God has a plan and purpose for the church, yet to be fulfilled within the community of Denton. Yes, I am still interested in pastoring Grace Fellowship.
The Gospel is the central part of the Bible. Many of the prophecies told in the Old Testament are fulfilled in the Gospels. Christianity revolves around one man: Jesus. The Gospels tell the story of Jesus and how we can gain salvation through the death and resurrection of Christ. There are many reasons why the Gospel gives hope as Paul describes in Colossians.
The Annunciation followed the tradition of situating the bible stories in the nave of the church, an area where the congregation was seated. This depiction on the wall allows people immerge into the story. As the wall is in the south position, it also sets the painting against the natural source of light. It parallels to the birth of Jesus, as the light enters the church through this position, and Jesus enters the world through Virgin Mary. Venessa emphasized on the sketch of contours and shades to depict the round figure of her main characters in her first draft.
As I stepped out of my car, I acknowledge that the church was surrounded by trees, which gave it a calming and peaceful sensation, the building was long with a triangular shaped form, with burgundy bricks surroundings and a bit of white in the front entrance and some at the very top and sides with a dark beige roofing to give the church some color, the windows seemed to be a tinted crystal glass that was designed with blues and a beige color. As I made my way into the church their was an entry room where a man and a women and what seemed to be their two children greeted me and handed me a pamphlet that described what was going to take place in that days Sunday school and mass, then I made my way to another pair of doors where I could hear the choir singing, as I opened the doors the inside of the church was a tan wood looking color all around and had matching tan benches with burgundy red bedding to match the carpet, the thing that stood out most to me when I walked in was the large cross that was in the very front that shined very bright as if the sun was hitting it to give the whole church light, when I looked below the cross, the choir was singing and beside it was a women playing a piano with so much passion and in front of them was a the pastors book stand also a matching tan color with his bible. The people were very kind as I sat down next to a friend that attends that church, they welcomed me with open arms and talked a bit about them self’s and the amount of time
