Race Fuels Being Environmentally Friendly Most people think that all race cars are the same with their environmental impacts. An abundance of people think that all race fuels are the same they did not know that there were many different kinds of race fuels and they are all for different cars and are made from different materials. But they are wrong for the most part, yes some fuels are very bad for the environment, but their are some that are not very bad for the environment. The racing industry is a very polluting industry and should have to take steps to be more environmentally friendly. Alcohol is produced the same way that ethanol is just without the gasoline added into the mixture. Alcohol is a fuel mixture that can sustain super high …show more content…
The ethanol mixture E10 means there is ten percent denatured ethanol and ninety percent gasoline, and with the E85 blend, it has eighty-five percent denatured ethanol and fifteen percent gasoline. The reason that they call ethanol denatured is because it is mixed with a very small amount of gasoline so that it is toxic if drank and it also helps a cold engine start easier. Ethanol can be made of corn or sugarcane. The first benefit of running ethanol is that it has naturally a high octane rating, which in turn mean that you can use it for higher horsepower, and higher compression motors. General Motors did research that says “data of a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated spark-ignition direct-injection flex-fuel engine running on E85 demonstrated a near 15 percent increase in specific output relative to production gasoline counterparts, while showing an improvement in part load operation of 3-6 percent. These gains were associated with reduced heat rejection, increased volumetric efficiency, and increased dilution (EGR) tolerance” (Fisher). Ethanol is a fuel that we become more and more widely used as the technology advances and people start to understand the need to switch to alternative fuels. “Beyond the power benefits that ethanol can provide there are two other big factors that make ethanol an attractive fuel for circle track applications. First, it 's renewable; and second, it 's clean-burning. In addition, since ethanol is less volatile than gasoline, there 's a reduced chance of explosion in spills and accidents”
Warning, Warning demolition derbies are taking over the world and we need help to come and have fun watching drivers destroy each other’s cars. Larry Mendelsohn is credited with organizing and promoting the first true demolition derby in Long Island, New York in the late 1950’s. Later his friend, Don Basile created Banger Racing in the early 1950’s, which added a racing element to the derby. Jeremy Brown modified the derby by creating the first modified derby car which is a car about 5 or 6 steel plates welded on the car. These three guys are life changers for creating the demolition derby and its other events.
Throughout the last two weeks, I have been reading Patrick Ness’ Monsters of Men and Garth stein’s The Art of Racing in the Rain. I had 478 pages left of Monsters of Men and I finished that book. I am currently on page 122 of The Art of Racing in the Rain. Monsters of Men was about the battle between Spackle and the people. There were two groups of people that were also against each other but they decided that they had to join forces because one group did not have food and the other group did not have water because the Spackle destroyed their supply of it.
Introduction Garth Stein, author of the renowned The Art of Racing in the Rain has a capacity to engage readers from the beginning to the end of each novel. One might ask how what his writing is so appealing; numerous people believe that great novels are because of the who the author is as a person. However, the author has to allow the characters to take on their own personalities; the characters are very much different from the author in truly iconic novels. Garth Stein certainly subscribes to this idea, as he is known for his stories that seem authentic and natural, driven by his original characters, rather than characters based off of himself.
What does it mean to denature the alcohol. It means to take away natural qualities of the alcohol and add new ones(Getting a Bang Out of Breath
The mousetrap car is propelled by the elastic energy from the wound spring of the mousetrap moving a lever that pulls on a string that is wrapped around one axle of the mousetrap car. As the lever pulls the string the axle turns and the string unwinds until there is no string, when this happens the end of the string that was wrapped around the axle releases and the mousetrap car should move for a distance because of the kinetic energy until friction causes it to
For my 4th quarter book report I chose the book The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. This book is composed of 336 pages delicately composed writing. This book is modern realistic fiction due to the fact it is from a dog’s perspective. This novel deals with real life issues of losing a spouse/love one, illness, transformation, and marriage. The setting in the book is present day Settle, Washington.
In The Art of Racing in the Rain, as Enzo is dying, he realizes that a person does not have to be selfish to be a great driver, or even a great person. As Enzo is about to die, he is ready to become human, but then realizes how much him dying is going to hurt Denny. He thinks: "I don't want Denny to worry about me. I don't want to force him to take me on a one-way visit to the vet. He loves me so much.
Today, I am going to be informing you on two types of races. The two types of races are Track racing and Drag racing. They have quite a bit in common and they are different in ways too. Although they are different in ways they both attract crowds of people, have loud sounds, and lots of cars.
stock car racing developed in the south were the moon shiners drove their souped up automobiles to get away from the cops, revenuers and deliver their shine. Today stock car racing is the largest spectator sport in America by drawing 10 million fans annually to the track. Stock car racing was born in the Southern Appalachians. True stories abound of “good old boys” transporting loads of illegal moonshine in their souped up 34 fords, trying to outrun the revenuers and police as they drove without headlights along dark, twisting dirt roads at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour delivering their shine. The need to beat the cops and their friends in their souped up automobiles led to weekend races.
Another survey present that people were more inclined to buy automatic, high fueled cars than hybrids. This just goes to represent that society is playing a role in the high pollution
There has always been those certain environmental people that say that diesel trucks are bad for the environment. What those people do not usually know is not surprising to anyone that knows a diesel engine. The only thing that they know to say is "that black stuff that comes out of the truck when they "roll coal" is bad for the environment. A diesel has many different ways that make it a better vehicle.
First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease.
A lot of people love to hear about energy efficient and environmentally friendly options out there. The electric vehicles today serve great benefits in keeping emissions down and using a more friendly alternative energy source. In my opinion they have made an impact on the environment, but a major benefit in using this alternative resource is less cost to fuel the vehicle. Gasoline is very expensive today, and using the energy that is used to power our home, is much less expensive and more available than gas. The environment, as claimed by environmentalists, suffers due to the emissions of automobiles today.
The reduction of carbon emissions to the atmosphere, the cost of maintenance and refuelling and the safety of electric vehicles are surely convincing rationale for us to make changes. So, we all know that majority of people commonly utilise fuel, oil or LPG as a
About motor sports in general: Motorsports is one of the biggest sports in the world and it is known worldwide. The events of motorsports are using motorized vehicles whether it was cars or motorcycles. Motorsports doesn’t mean racing, but the most famous type of motorsports is racing. There are also various types of racing like car racing, motorcycle racing and boat racing. The most famous type of racing is car racing so let’s take a deeper look into it.
