Hello, I am Jakeline Guerrero Hernandez and I am just going to tell you a little bit about myself. I will begin with my academics, so last year I was part of the Jump Start program in which I got to complete my first year of my associate’s degree while still in High School. This semester I am taking some courses at the campus as well as online. This will be my first time taking online courses so if any of you have any suggestions they are greatly appreciated. I decided to take this course because I had Kim as my Jump Start professor for history and really enjoyed her class she definitively has a way of making history interesting and fun. For my academic interests I want to go into the medical field where I plan on becoming a general physician.
I began college in 2014 at the age of 58 years-old to change my area of employment and do something that is far more interesting to me, working within the social services field. I realize the fact I was brought up by two dysfunctional, abusive parents in a chaotic home lead me to search out that same type of familiar relationship when I left home at the age of seventeen. In short, I married a domestic violence abuser and alcoholic when I was 19 years-old and had 5 children. Ten years into the marriage, when I had finally reached the end of my rope, a local police officer helped me to obtain a Protection from Abuse order and removed my husband from the home. This era was the birth of the Protection from Abuse orders and for me and this new
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.
The Army has been at war since September 11th, 2001. I learned a very harsh and cold lesson in the fall of 2003. The vast majority of the civilian populace in the countries in which we operate are good people. Unfortunately we find ourselves in situations where good people must die. It is an unfortunate recourse of warfare.
Career Narrative: Psychiatrist When it comes to the work force, we have many choices of what we can do, but, it is up to us to figure out what we want to do for the rest of our lives. My career goal is to become an Adult Psychiatrist, I want to be an Adult Psychiatrist because I would like to help people who cannot help themselves. I believe I would be a good fit for this position because I feel I that I have quite a few of the characteristics necessary to help people who need it the most. I would work to get the patient back into the world and to be a fully-functioning member of society. I would likely work at a psychiatric hospital because the people there would need the help the most, due to either being forced to be there, or they are
At Miller Children Hospital in Long Beach I have developed certain skills that are necessary in order to go into the Human Services Career. At Miller I have learned how to communicate with different people, learn how to take things not seriously, and how to not let my emotions get in the way of assisting children and family. When I go back and think about my first semester of internship I remember how difficult it was to open up to different people and build rapport with them. I remember being quite, nervous, and questioning my abilities in the Human Service career. Throughout my internship I have become more confident I am able to open up to people without being intimidated.
Andrew, my older brother, in middle of the road he was tired to keep ride the ox for 1 month. He asked me to replace him, so he can get some sleep. But then I do not have any experience of riding ox, that cause our wagon go wrong trail. The sky was dark like almost rain, I was panic. Everyone was in poor health because digest least food.
When I was a little girl I decided I wanted to be something in the medical field. Lately, I’ve realized how hard it is to get into medical college or any college for that matter. I realized I need to start to work on stuff that could help me get
was born in Dayton Ohio on March 14th in 2003. I have 1 older brother (Wesley VanZant) and he is 15. My favorite football teams are the Denver Broncos and the Ohio State Buckeyes. My whole family loves to play and watch sports. My brother gets crazy when his favorite teams are playing and make a touchdown.
I would like to be a general practitioner doctor, and I am going to make it happen by doing well at Elon, doing the Duke Star Program, and going to Medical School. I will do well at Elon by working as hard as I can, and applying myself every day. I will try to learn as much as I can from my professors so I can prepare myself to the best of my ability for the things that I will do later in my career. I am going to use the Duke Star program to get there because clinical research is a very important part of the medical field. While I am currently looking at going in to medicine to be a general practitioner I have not ruled out doing medical research.
Why did you decide to become a physician and how do you plan to use your time as an undergraduate student to reach your goal? *
I am currently a Freshman student at UCI writing to apply for workstudy for Fall quarter. I found out about this job opportunity through the Fall Career Fair held at UCI. I have had ample experience with customer service both through volunteering and previous jobs , therefore I have the patience and kindness it takes to create a great experience for customers . On top of volunterring at Cedar Sinai Medical Center, I was apart of many innovative groups that strive to advocate environmental change and participated in Summerbridge. Prior, to these groups I worked as a personal cleric and at Yogurtland, where I was able to strive and provide great customer service.
Mentor When asked in class who my mentor was, I drew a blank. This realization sent a wave of panic through me as I realized that I was not as dedicated to the path I was on as I thought. However, we were assigned to find someone who could possibly be our mentor. This made me realize that I was not the only one in the class who was not where we should be in the process of becoming a graphic or interior designer.
One day sitting in the firehouse I heard a loud screeching noise, as I looked out the window I noticed that a car had gone out of control and had struck a tree on the side lawn of the firehouse. I ran to the pump to get the first -aid kit and began to run out the front door around the side of the firehouse upon doing this I was met by a bystander who saw the collision at which point she pointed at me and said " you call 911" I slowed for a Sec and then continued to the car when I heard in the background her husband say " he is 911" I don't know whether it was the uniform or the large orange first-aid kit that tipped him off. Since firefighters’ devote their lives to helping other people, it can be a very rewarding career. In addition,
Moving to the Right Place When I was born my siblings were 10, 13, and 16. Being so far apart in age caused my life to be very different than that of my siblings. Before I knew it everyone was doing their own thing, going off to college and getting married. My parents divorced when two, so it was just me and my Mom.
