I thought about it day and night. But I knew that at the end of the day I wanted to stand up for people who couldn't like my mother. I wanted to pursue justice and I was going to give everything to make that possible. I was going to join the “Sons of Liberty”. This day will never be forgotten. It was November 3rd, 1773. First, I didn’t really know what to expect. Everything was new to me and I had a lot to learn. I couldn't tell my friends because it could potentially put them in danger. I had to lie to my friends that I wasn’t in the group. It was hard at first lying to people, but then it was just a routine that I did over and over again. After a while it became a habit. We met at a local building downtown Boston. It was like a storage place but to be honest I really didn’t know what it was. We discussed problems that we should we fix like taxing on us(the colonist). We didn’t want the British to know we made a group that rebelled against them. After the British taxed us on tea, we wanted to get back at them for taxing us. So we thought and thought …show more content…
As more and more ships of the British came, the more power the British would claim. We talked and talked about what they would do. Soon, We began to work something like maybe war or anything like that. We wanted our own independence. I thought that if we went to war I can start my own family and start a new life. Well at least after the war. I wanted to join the war! All the things leading up to the war. Like Concord and Lexington we lost. All the blood coming out of people’s leg. As I shot my gun or just reloaded every time I thought of every morning that my mom made my tea. All the times as a child. These things in my mind made me angier. Every cold harsh winter we faced. ¾ of the people didn’t even have SHOES! Some died of frostbites, some amputated their legs. It was devastating for us
On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry decided it was time that his voice was heard (Kindig). His statements on that day later became known as “Liberty or Death” (Kindig).
These alliances helped to raise the colonist’s spirits and gave them more confidence in their fighting. Though, some of the colonists did not want independence from Britain, most did and their attitudes were relatively positive and their spirits were high. The colonists were excited to finally gain independence and were confident that they
Some even believed that the success of the colonies was "the result of Great Britain" (anonymous letter) and that anyone who opposed Britain must be insane. The rebels--or patriots depending on who one asks--believed that Britain was a tyrant and had already begun waging war against them and that it was their responsibility to fight back. This debate eventually led to the creation of the Declaration of Independence as those resisting England's control outvoted those who were content with their situation.
In 1770, there were 4,000 red coats roaming the streets of Boston. As a result of the Great Awakening in the 1730s-40s, the highly spiritual colonists had a strong dislike for the bad behavior of the red coats. This caused what is known as the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre was the first extremely violent encounter between the British and the colonists with shots fired from the red coats. Oddly enough, this resulted in a period of calm.
•Both sides realized it would be a longer and bloodier war than they expected •It helped both sides get prepared with strategies •It helped inexperienced soldiers for battle •The first couple battle can add or subtract support •It showed that even though the south had less people they were still fight •It showed that the North neede better generals and soldiers •Most of all it showed the Confederates were prepared and ready to win after winning the first two battles
I look down, I have a body, but why does it feel so peculiar. The last thing I remember is dying at the French & Indian war. I start walking, all I see are woods. I keep on walking for what feels like miles, until I find a colony. I start walking through the streets, there aren’t many people outside.
Upon meeting me, not many people know that I am a first generation American. However, they are usually interested in the orgin of my last name. I am in fact Ukranian. Both my parents and my older sister were born in Ukraine. They immigrated to America in 1992 because of religious persecution that they were facing.
Around the year 1776, important Englishmen in the colonies discovered that they could use the development from creating a country, the United States of America, they could control the land, profits, and take the power from people in favor of the British Empire. In addition they could hold back potential rebellions and
Its march 5th 1770live here at the Boston Customs House. There are rumors that a fight broke down between the colonist and a lone British sentry. We only have a few people throwing snowballs and heckling the sentry.it now seems that there are more people joining in on snowballs. I’ve also seen some rocks mixed into the snowballs. It looks like it’s getting out of hand.
On January 10, 1776, the piece was anonymously published and it was an instant sensation. Many colonists were wondering what they should do regarding Great Britain, and Common Sense encouraged many to think deeper into the idea of America’s independence. Today, Common Sense remains

Parliament believed that after all England had done, the colonies owed them money from the war. This did not settle well with the colonists. The Americans, after
I participated in the Boston Tea Party and little did I know that in four years I would be freezing at Valley Forge. In 1777, Washington and his soldiers arrived at Valley Forge. The Declaration of Independence helped the Revolutionary War start. In October of 1777, Washington was unable to stop the British from marching into the national capital of Philadelphia.
Normally, in a revolution, a government is overthrown and replaced by another type of government. An example of a revolution is the American Revolution, in which the British monarchy got rejected by the colonists in the Thirteen Colonies. From the rejection, it resulted in a war in which the Thirteen Colonies uprised against the British. Both argued over a disagreement about the way the colonies wanted to be treated versus the way Great Britain treated the colonies. Ultimately, the idea of equality among the people and government became a major concern.
The committee urged for colonies to write to each other and to unite their opposition of the British. As the colonies shared ideas between each other, a sense of solidarity was
