Throughout high school I have been very involved in my choir program. Music has always inspired and intrigued me. I decided to audition for Colorado All-state choir my junior year. I had to learn a solo and practice many other aspects of being a well-rounded vocalist. When I auditioned I was very nervous but it was nothing compared to the pain I felt of not making it two months later.
I began college in 2014 at the age of 58 years-old to change my area of employment and do something that is far more interesting to me, working within the social services field. I realize the fact I was brought up by two dysfunctional, abusive parents in a chaotic home lead me to search out that same type of familiar relationship when I left home at the age of seventeen. In short, I married a domestic violence abuser and alcoholic when I was 19 years-old and had 5 children. Ten years into the marriage, when I had finally reached the end of my rope, a local police officer helped me to obtain a Protection from Abuse order and removed my husband from the home. This era was the birth of the Protection from Abuse orders and for me and this new

If you want to be a star, you have to have various elements that you cannot get even if you try to get, such as graceful figure and shape. Although if you want to be a singer or actor, your effort can be effective, still whether your figure is beautiful or not should greatly affect whether your dream comes true or not. Your effort to realize your dream that you become a star might be vain. Moreover, maybe, your parents have invested a lot of money in your lesson, dresses, participation in contests, and so on. After all, it is risky to aim to be a star.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
ST: I had wanted to be an actress since I was in high school. I loved being in the school plays, and I had a very inspiring high school teacher who put his heart and soul into mounting a show. I learned early on that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but that the overall reward is so worth it. I then went on to study theatre in university and received my Batchelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre and haven't looked back! Photo by Ryan Crocker
It has been twenty years in the making to create myself. I started out sheltered. So to say, hidden from the real world. Being born and raised it out it the middle of a corn field was rough, but not what you would consider rough. It was all about take it or leave, or fix it or do without.
The Army has been at war since September 11th, 2001. I learned a very harsh and cold lesson in the fall of 2003. The vast majority of the civilian populace in the countries in which we operate are good people. Unfortunately we find ourselves in situations where good people must die. It is an unfortunate recourse of warfare.
Career Narrative: Psychiatrist When it comes to the work force, we have many choices of what we can do, but, it is up to us to figure out what we want to do for the rest of our lives. My career goal is to become an Adult Psychiatrist, I want to be an Adult Psychiatrist because I would like to help people who cannot help themselves. I believe I would be a good fit for this position because I feel I that I have quite a few of the characteristics necessary to help people who need it the most. I would work to get the patient back into the world and to be a fully-functioning member of society. I would likely work at a psychiatric hospital because the people there would need the help the most, due to either being forced to be there, or they are
Center Stage: Careers in Musical Theater Can you imagine being the director of a famous musical, teaching future famous actors and actresses, becoming a Broadway star? These are what careers in Musical Theater can offer, dreams being made or coming true. I have been involved in music since I was five years old, starting out with piano, and then moving on to guitar and voice. I started thinking seriously about a music career after I attended International Music Camp in the seventh grade.
was born in Dayton Ohio on March 14th in 2003. I have 1 older brother (Wesley VanZant) and he is 15. My favorite football teams are the Denver Broncos and the Ohio State Buckeyes. My whole family loves to play and watch sports. My brother gets crazy when his favorite teams are playing and make a touchdown.
Professionally Not Professional Young people may be so naïve that they believe that it is professionally okay to send out an email to other professionals that uses slang, bad grammar, or misspelling within it. John Rumery, presenter of “Stop Talking. Start Writing. Get Moving;” told a room of young college students that if they are hoping to seek professional work after college, then they need to have great writing, analytical, and social skills.
I know talent can only get me so far; it’s perseverance and indefatigability that take you to where you want to go. Music is something I want to pursue. I am not sure what specifically, but I see music as a major role in my future; and to me, working hard is how I plan on getting there.
Nursing, and everything that it entails, cannot be easily described in just one simple word or phrase. It goes beyond the meaning of a profession and the stereotypical definition of treating the ill. Nursing is the “protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association, 2010, p. 1). Therefore, it is a career that requires dedication, passion, critical thinking, and knowledge. It demands commitment and an understanding of its core values and concepts, as well as the nurse’s own personal philosophy and principles.
I can 't remember when I began writing as a hobby, but I 've done it long enough for it to feel like a part of me. Everyday, whenever I have time or am in the mood, I try to write something before I go to bed. Whatever that had been scratching at my brain, or something that I want to experiment, I write down before the thought becomes meaningless. Inspirations come from many different sources and at many different times of the day. Often times I find myself struck with an idea when I 'm outside, only to inconspicuously jot my thoughts down onto my phone.
