Everyone is unique in their own way. Things like our laughs, personalities, styles, opinions, etc, are all things that make us special and different. One thing that I feel though makes me unique and stand out from the rest is my dedication and experiences. Ever since I was young I always had a knack and passion for investigation. I was always that kid that was constantly asking why or how and If I couldn’t understand something, I would not rest until I figured it out. Whether it was following closely along a murder mystery helping solve the case through the television screen or learning about something new in class and going home that night and researching it so I had an abundance of knowledge on the subject for the next day. Whatever it was I always wanted to figure things out, and as I began to think of what I wanted do with the rest of my life, …show more content…
I gained so much knowledge by observing and participating in so many different experiments, attending lab meetings where I was able to learn about upcoming and new treatments, and by using and properly learning about the techniques and equipment used in a lab. I learned through this experience that I am dedicated and passionate about medicine and research and I already have experience and insight on what it takes to work in a real lab. I like to pride myself on having this dedication because instead of waiting for opportunities to present themselves to me in the future, I want to gain as much experience and knowledge as I can know and go after whatever will help me succeed and make me the best researcher I can be. Also, if I get the chance, I believe continuing my learning and passion at the University of Pittsburgh would help me tremendously because I would be able to intern at the twelfth hospital in the nation, UPMC, and receive a fitting and accomplished education from the biology
Studying Biology and Chemistry prepared me for further independent study, and my substantial laboratory experience provided me the opportunity to interact with multiple scholars and experts in the field. Within my four years in college, I took pleasure in all my laboratory courses and have benefitted from a broad exposure to different laboratories and scientific techniques and equipment which are vital in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences field. My instructors taught me to look at scientific questions using a systematic approach that will serve me well in continuing my education and throughout my career. Deciding to major in Biology positively molded me into a more confident person and guided me to pursue a fascinating specialty, such as Clinical Laboratory
We are all different and unique in our own way, which is what truly makes us
The healthcare industry has witnessed significant changes in recent years, and one of the most notable developments is personalized medicine. What makes someone special? What about you is unique? How do you stand out from a crowd? For me, I was adopted from China.
For example, take a look of our personality. All of us have a different personality and our personality is what makes us special compared to other people,
My personality is what makes me unique. I have been developing it my entire life. It is who I am and how I react to the people and situations around me. I have always been interested in learning more about myself and how to change and grow into a better person. As I review my life, I can recognize the traits I received genetically and also the traits developed through social interaction.
Have you ever heard or been told the phrase ‘be unique’? Being unique means being different from everyone else. Human beings are unique because they differ from one another by their values, beliefs, ideology, norms, language, etc., however, we are not born with these. As individuals, we acquire them through our culture. Our culture is defined by the place and surroundings we grow up in.
After finishing the personal health assessment in the textbook, pages 21-32, I was able to notice which areas I scored high in and where I scored low in. The top two areas I scored high in were, “Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Use” with 83 points and “Social and Occupational Health” with 72 points. The two lowest areas I scored in and need the most improvement were, “Nutrition and Weight Management” with 47 points and “Stress Management” with 40 points. With the help of this assessment, the behavior change objective I would like to attempt for the next six weeks would be to limit fast food consumption to at most 3 times a week for six weeks. By attempting this objective, I am hoping to improve my health in terms of how I naturally feel and look, and
A Patient Patient I was once a patient patient. I was a patient of precocious puberty, a disorder that may impose some health risks and harmful effects on children’s potential height. And I was also patient with one’s indifference. The main treatment of my abnormality was an injection to suppress my growth hormones.
This clinical experience has really helped me to sharpen my communication skills and realize just how important it is to understand mental health. We are told multiple times in class that mental health issues can be seen on any floor and that is the truth. I’ve seen patients in my older adult clinical on the pulmonary floor suffer from issues that range from anxiety to bipolar disorder and depression. Being able to understand how to approach people that suffer from these types of illnesses, allows us, the nurses, to give the patient the best care that we can. It helps to build a trusting relationship and get to know them on a personal level.
Overcoming my Obstacles Obstacle--a word that most people in the world do not want to mention, but all of us have to face them every day in our lives. Some people have to face physical hardships, but others have to face spiritual difficulties. Overcoming these obstacles is very important for people to have a good life. Everyone has a personal way to overcome their obstructions, and each way has a particular lesson to teach us. I also have had to face many difficulties in my life, and my three big obstacles have been homesickness, car sickness, and studying English.
During my time at CI I would like to be involved in school by joining extracurricular activities, organizations and clubs. In hopes that I will meet a lot of new people and gain skills that I can’t gain in a classroom setting. Although my main goal is to graduate in four years with my Bachelors of Science Degree. As well as maintaining good grades throughout all four years. I’m unsure of what career I want to pursue so I want to be able to maintain high grades so that I can have more options available to me.
I always have been curious. It made me being in several troubles when I was a boy. I wanted to know everything about the world which surrounded me. I had knowledge hungry. In an attempt to calm down my hyperactivity, my mother taught me to read and I loved reading, at the beginning at least.
Last semester was composed of a critical care lecture class and two clinical courses, which were mental health and community. I try my best to be open-minded and willing to make every new experience a learning opportunity. For my community clinical we were placed at an assisted living center. For our first few meetings I could tell that the group’s overall impression of our placement was not favorable. At first the feelings about our clinical were not spoken outright and could be seen as withdrawal.
