Are you tired of overpopulation? Worried about global warming? Or just don’t like your neighbor? Well then I’ve got a proposal for you. These days all anyone seems to be talking about is what a terrible state the earth is in. There’s corrupt politicians, the barrier reefs are dying, there’s natural disasters, people are starving, some say that soon, even the rich will have trouble getting their gourmet steaks. The Earth just seems to be falling apart. One may ask what are we to do in the face of all of this awfulness. So I have come in this dire need, to offer my humble and expert opinion. Leave. Let’s leave this irrevocably, desolate, forlorn planet and colonize the ever expanding, exciting, mystery that is space. Space like the name entails has space. It has room for everyone to spread out. So, if well respected smart people, like Stephen Hawking and NASA are to be believed, then that solves the problem of overpopulation easy peasy. It is so hard to find a nice affordable place these days, especially in the big cities, but in the vacuum of space there’s no need to worry about high rent prices when you will have more pressing matters, such as finding the best way to terraform your new home for optimal living conditions.
Thomas Malthus predicts by 2050 the Earth’s population will begin to outgrow the food being produced, because while

I have great confidence that spending all our money and limited resources on developing the technology to be able to survive the harshness of space will be immensely more beneficial, than wasting it on trying to fix Earth. Why spend money on a planet that is constantly being hit with natural disasters, for instance tsunamis and tornadoes, when technology could possibly be developed that will allow a person to transform a hostile planet not suitable for humans, to a nice place that will not have tornadoes and
This lecture is trying to shape what people are going to eat and where they are going to get their food from. Mark clarified that, “we need to start acting”, (Mark Bitman 2007, transcript 8:35). on the overproduction and consumption of meat and junk food. It is proven that the more plants we eat the longer we will live. This information is backing up his idea and showing that it is logical making him more trustworthy.

During the talk by Dr. David Galbraith, several global questions were raised. The most prominent one that came to my mind during the talk was how we are going to survive on a planet that we cannot leave, yet one that we have depleted our natural resources by 98.5%. Galbraith discusses how we survive on Earth because of the presence of our atmosphere and internal magnetic field; we are unique because we have yet to encounter another planet that has an atmosphere like we do. Because our atmosphere is protecting us from cosmic rays and radiation, and we have yet to find a way to substantially protect ourselves outside of our atmosphere, we are stuck on our current planet. As Galbraith discussed during his talk and mentioned above, we have depleted
In his book, Population Bomb, he argued “through his life that there is an impending doom containing overpopulation and starvation”(Ehrlich 18). Let the facts show that the world has taken the right path toward sustaining life and sending us towards prosperity. In R. Engelman article “Population and Sustainability: Can We Avoid Limiting the Number of People” Engelman’s key argument was that “slowing the rise in human numbers is essential for the planet--but it doesn't require population control”(Engelman 49). Placing a cap on the population will force consequences as
As we humans dissect the wild world, with bridges, roads, power lines, visible and invisible nation divides, jet contrails, hundreds of bear cubs from their mothers as Florida murdered over 300 Black Bears, mountains from their tops, forest from their trees. As we dismember ourselves with gated communities, cell phones, political parties, sports teams, my new daughter’s childhood with rape, we become less and less connected with the planet we depend on every second of every minute, of everyday for our very survival. Until we stand up and hold our ground against the likes of professional fraggers, like Coulter, Limbaugh, Trump, Cheney, Rove and many more, the ametuer fragging school shooters, the planet might just be better off if we hurry
Thank you very much. It's great to be in a wonderful city -- New York. And it's an honor to have everybody here. (APPLAUSE) (CROWD: "Trump, Trump, Trump!") Our country is in serious trouble.
Are you a believer that most of the things in life are caused by ongoing environmental issues? To counteract or prevent the effects of despair one needs to do something that is to be in action so that we are not in sorrow tomorrow. Don’t allow despair. Instead, do something about it. In “Despair Not” by Sandra Steingraber she mentions what is happening on our planet and what is happening to our bodies also.
We are Mexico's dumping ground for their poor, uneducated and unskilled people. That makes us its social safety net. We bear the costs that Mexico should bear. Mexico's government actively encourages its disadvantaged people to immigrate to the United States, illegally or otherwise.
Our environment had been endangered of becoming unsafe, threatening, and even deadly. “The water we drink, the food we eat, the very air that we breathe, are threatened with pollution. Our parks are overcrowded, our seashores overburdened. Green fields and dense forests are disappearing.” Johnson stresses that the health of people and environment is at risk because Americans have allowed for the destruction of nature to get out of hand, and causing both the Earth and human health at risk of becoming an ugly America, due to –as Johnson references- the “Ugly American” (“Great Society”).
Satire is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. A literary work in which human foolishness or vice is attacked through irony, derision, or wit. Mockery is teasing and contemptuous language or behavior directed at a particular person or thing. Also the behavior or speech that makes fun of someone or something in a hurtful way. “The Rape of the Lock” by Alexander Pope and “My Satirical Self” by Wyatt Mason from The New York times are both about satire and mockery.

When we do pick vegetables from the land it’s very rarely enough for the whole family to be fed so my husband

If our future generation has less food, people from all over the world will suffer from starvation. They will not only suffer from the lack of food, but also from the disease that pollution causes. Our world will become something so frightening and unsuitable for any living
We need to change our perspective about nature and be more caring towards the Earth. Because if we keep on being cruel and not see a life in natural creatures they will someday be gone and we will be regretting that day. We can
