My contribution to the mission of Nurse Corps Scholarship Program will not be limited to the help in which is needed. It has always been my desire to help others. Working in the medical field now as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, and as a Direct Care worker for the mentally disabled has trained me to face many different challenges with the correct approach. Also as a Licensed Evangelist Missionary, in my Christian belief, I have had the opportunity to work in the communities helping others in the time of need. With all that I have seen and learned through my work experience and through the church, I will be able to contribute the love, the nurturing, and the comforting of the individual in need while providing the care

Being a Cook Children’s nurse resident has been a dream of mine since I started nursing school. I feel that the nurse residency at Cook Children’s will aid in transitioning me from being a novice nurse to becoming a more confident and competent nurse. I wish to be a Cook Children/’s nurse resident because I want to take part in the preparation that is received to facilitate the shift that is needed to provide excellence in quality and safety in extraordinary care. At the completion of the nurse residency I expect to have been given to opportunity to better the charting and documenting that is necessary for each patient.

She also says she’s glad she chose it over trying to become a practitioner since that’s far more stressful. She says there are several positives about her nursing career, good pay and ability to find work quickly all over the country, good health insurance from day one for you and your family. Nurses have the ability to help their community, by helping their patients, improving their quality of life and taking part in saving a person's life. She says that when studying to become a nurse there are a lot of tests and a lot of people don't understand how hard you have to work for that title. Her advice to whoever is interested in the field is to stick with it.

My passion for nursing practice defies description; leading to the reason I am opting to pursue a higher level of education in nursing. The George Washington University School of nursing has one of the highly ranked master’s programs in the country, which offers a competitive curriculum and highly defined leadership skills that integrates technology into learning. It is therefore my desire to pursue an advance education at this facility because it prepares practitioners to become great clinicians ready to solve real-world clinical problems. Moreover, the opportunity to pursue a degree in this facility will afford me the ability to be a competent and highly efficient family nurse practitioner; that will serve the community and mostly the underserved. I am the last child in a family of eight that has aspired to pursue my education at the graduate level.

My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.

The first eight years of my life, I spent in India where I was born. Growing up I was constantly reminded by my parents that I needed to make them proud by getting a good job and living a good lifestyle. They told me this because they did not want to see me live a hard life like they did. When I was nine years old, I moved from India to the United States of America. The reason why I moved to America was not because I was living a bad life in India, it was so that I could have a better education and more opportunities in life.

Nursing is a most trusted and gratifying profession. As a nurse educator, I will express my passion for teaching by incorporating features such as clinical assessments, practical application of theory, evaluation, and role modeling into advanced nursing practice, from previous experiences and current experience and clinical practicum to find success and gratification in students chosen profession as well empowering leaners to develop their own strengths, beliefs, and personal attributes to become a good professional. Personally, I do have a positive attitude towards the personal and professional growth, and value ongoing learning and will stive to instill the same into my students learnig journey .. I work well with others and I strive to help create a good working environment where people can communicate, ask questions, learn new information, and feel respected. With this New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, I hope to be exposed to many different clinical situations. I hope to further develop my clinical leadership skills and to gain new knowledge.

I am in my third year of nursing and I am currently working in a hospital on an Orthopedic Neurological Trauma Unit. I collaborate with patients to identify the prominent health issues they are experiencing and advocate to ensure the care they receive is the most effective for their healing process. Patient interaction, learning new skills and evidence based practice, and being hands on with patient care are the benefits of my job that I enjoy the most. I form a bond with these patients and listen to their personal story to ensure that I give care individualized for each patient. Introduction: As a first year student I have very specific goals in mind that I hope to achieve through my work in college. My main hopes for the future are that I pass all of my exams in the coming years, graduate and receive my honours degree in general nursing, become a registered nurse and finally get a job as a nurse. Throughout this essay, I have detailed my strengths and the opportunities that will help me finalise these goals along with my weaknesses and the threats that will hinder my progress. Strengths:

Today, I am glad I choose nursing because I have overcome my social fears, learn to be a team player, learn how to prioritize and most importantly learned to manage stress. As a child, I dreamed of acquiring a career in Nursing. I was always fascinated by the amount of respect that nurses received during my doctor visits throughout my childhood. There are many reasons why I chose to major in Nursing such as the ability to take care of someone, the money and benefits that the career offered, as well as job stability and flexibility.
