Being a Cook Children’s nurse resident has been a dream of mine since I started nursing school. I feel that the nurse residency at Cook Children’s will aid in transitioning me from being a novice nurse to becoming a more confident and competent nurse. I wish to be a Cook Children/’s nurse resident because I want to take part in the preparation that is received to facilitate the shift that is needed to provide excellence in quality and safety in extraordinary care. At the completion of the nurse residency I expect to have been given to opportunity to better the charting and documenting that is necessary for each patient. Also, because this is a magnet hospital I would start seeking certification in the area that I will be working at. My goal

If there were something that she could change about her job, she said that at times processes within research development can take too long, especially with human subjects, and at times she times she wishes the process was more streamlined. Congress formally established the Navy Nurse Corps in 1908, an organization that has proven to be an instrumental and integral part of the United States Navy. At the time of the Corps ' establishment, only twenty nurses were selected, and answering their nation 's call, they served with distinction. During WWII, through their valiant efforts, female nurses went on to be recognized as having the same authority as their male counterparts. From WW1 to the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the navy nurse corps has put a lot of time and effort to quickly rise to the top of their profession. I am requesting this scholarship to help pursue my dream to become a registered nurse to be able to help and lead others. I want to be able to help people get well. We beat the odds and became two healthy baby girls.
Modern medicine has made has made even the simplest roles very important, this allows everyone to feel a sense of belonging. The topic I selected for my career-related capstone project is licensed practical nurse, a licensed practical nurse is very important to the staff and patients they take care of the patient on a more personal level than the doctor. They do perform some of the simplest tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medicine, taking care of wounds on a patient, and giving immunizations are just a few but without this task, patients wouldn 't get the best care available to them. Licensed practical nursing is an amazing career for me considering I love medicine; plus, the income will support me for years. A licensed

“More highly educated nursing workforce is critical to meeting the nation’s nursing needs and delivering safe, effective patient care….. Without a more educated nursing workforce, the nation’s health will be further at risk (Tri-council for Nursing, 2010).” As the acuity of the patient increases daily, so is the need for increases of higher education for nurses. The factor of increasing complexity of patient health require higher education for the liability of safe practice, thus is an agreeable requirement for employers to place upon the employees. Acquiring a bachelor’s degree is only an improvement for everyone.
