Narrative Essay About Moving Abroad

I can remember it like it was yesterday. My parents left me when I was fifteen years old to go to America. I thought to myself for one year, they left me here to starve, live, and die alone in eastern Europe. When I was sixteen years old I got ready to move to America and start a new life.

When I ask my friends about my most prominent feature, they always mention my “Britishness”. With my Union Jack Converses and other flag covered items, I understand why. Of course, why wouldn't they comment on that? I am proud of my birthplace, and couldn't think of a better place to call home. Yet being a foreigner, I have faced a few challenges in coming to terms with who I am.

As a teenager moving to a new country with a different culture, different language, and being thousands of miles away from everyone I grew up with was not an easy change, however, that was precisely what I did in January of 2013 when I came to the United States with my father. My whole world changed since, and shaped my way of thinking. From learning English, adjusting to a new culture, experiencing my first snow and finding my way in my new country, my life has been an exciting adventure. My parents brought me to America almost 5 years ago to have a better life, and to get a better education.

The first eight years of my life, I spent in India where I was born. Growing up I was constantly reminded by my parents that I needed to make them proud by getting a good job and living a good lifestyle. They told me this because they did not want to see me live a hard life like they did. When I was nine years old, I moved from India to the United States of America. The reason why I moved to America was not because I was living a bad life in India, it was so that I could have a better education and more opportunities in life.

It is difficult to calculate how greatly the status of being undocumented has impacted my life. I was ten years old when my family and I immigrated to the United States. My parents have worked multiple jobs so my siblings and I could have a chance at a better future than they did. Even after thirteen years in the U.S. – I still overhear my parents’ conversations about deportations.

I am writing at the moment from Virginia and I hope all my family is able to read my experienced in the colonial era. Migrating from Europe was difficult but I am able to witness so far the liberty to worship God and people who worked to promote the church. There are ways to preserve the identity as Christians without any state rule that prohibits personal beliefs. People are able to purify their life in God without anyone feeling persecuted or suppress because of negative consequences one can experienced. There is also land and the benefits of it are cash crop and able to better economically.

Moving to America brings great opportunity to an individual and their family. When my parents moved to America, success was within their reach. My parents could purse their education and soon find their career. My mother has always explained why she was so relieved when my grandparents first told her that they were moving to America. My mother knew that her and her family will be free, they would not have to live in poverty anymore.

In 2013 my parents told me we were moving to United States at first I didn't want to come, I had my life already done there I have many friends all my family living near I could go and visit them when I wanted, then I start realizing that it would be a good idea to get to know a different country and other people. When I got here my thoughts were that it was going to be so difficult to get used to a new place, but actually it wasn’t. I went to many parts of the country my favorite was Las Vegas everything was beautiful there. I got to visit my family and go to other states that is one of the things I will never regret for coming to a new country. One of the things that was most difficult for me was to get used to the food it tastes different specially tortillas, cheese, corn, beans and ham but also here the food tastes really good, food that I had never tasted where I live before.

A Moving Experience Moving houses had always been strenuous for me, especially since my family had moved multiple times. This was my family’s third time moving. We were moving from California to Indiana. Even though it was my third time moving, I still found it arduous to move locations and to say goodbye to the friends I made in California.

Moving to a different country again, having to restart everything that was already started and established in the country previously. But now it’s time to start from scratch finding a new job, being lost by not knowing anybody or any places. That’s what my mom had to go through. She also had to go through having low income. Since school costed a lot.

With everyone now aboard the cruise ship, I can’t even hear myself think! The sound of adults and children overwhelmed with excitement and bursting with laughter fills the sea air. “We’ll be departing for the Caribbean islands shortly,” exclaims Captain George Johnson. This is my cue to start making way to my compact yet cozy room to unpack my belongings for my ten day trip.

It was the end of summer 2000 and this was going to be the begging of the worst year for Maria. One day Maria came home from school and found that her parents were waiting for her at the kitchen table anxiously to tell her the exciting news. Maria 's Mom Antoinette was so anxious that Maria didn’t even make it to the table without her mom shouting, “Where moving!” Maria was in complete shock and couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want to move and leave all her friends behind. Antoinette then exclaimed, “To Italy!”

My Journey to America Moving from Nigeria to the United States permanently feels great, but at the same time it is sad leaving some of your loved ones and family behind. There are many events in life, which can change one’s way of thinking. As for me, one of the major changes in my life occurred when I moved from Africa to America. This change has entirely affected my personality positively. Why?

Moving to a new country can be difficult sometimes. Leaving all my relatives and friends back home was the saddest thing for me. My mother told me that we were moving to a new country. At first, I thought my mother was joking about it. but little did I know that she was telling the truth.

if i were to pack up and move to a country with a centrally planned country i wouldnt be happy at all. i would go to school with teachers who didnt care because they have other things on their mind. in the winter we would all be freezing at times because the heating goes out. there arent enough books for all the kids so i might not be able to read what the teacher wants us to. my parents would be grumpy anmd mad when i got home from schgool becasue they hate their jobs but cant do anything aboiut it because of the way the economy is.
