My mother, comparatively, did much better than my father in school. One of the reason’s she was a better student was because she had a lot of support from her friends. The friends that she hung out with were also family friends because my mother’s and their families enjoyed spending time together and were socially similarly structured. Her and her family lived in the same city since my mother was born, so she grew up with the same friends and attended the same school for years.

As time progressed and I got older and more rules applied to me. Most of the rules were made up as my dad went along and were very strict. I wasn’t very good about following such strict rules and occasionally stepped out of line. My dad had his hot buttons when it came to the rules and if I broke them it sent his mood spiraling out of control. The two biggest rules to follow were to never question my father and always do as I was told to.

Just those things alone have made them into very inspirational people to some. In fact, they may be the greatest inspiration of all time, a true definition of child looking up to his parents. Right away, both of my parents had high expectations for me. At a young age college was instilled in me as the only possible route I could take; which was okay because as an adolescent I held great pride that both my parents went to college.

In the following comparative essay I will be discussing the literacy of practices used outside of school for pleasure by comparing and contrasting the reading, writing and digital literacy use of British Asian girls and Welsh girls and how this has influenced or affected their bicultural and bilingual identity using information from an article written by Susan Jones in 2006, as well as information I’ve gained from my lectures and own personal experience. My old high school, Ramona High School, is described as a small campus. The current population of students is around two thousand. The school’s diversity is low, and about seventy percent of the student body consists of Hispanics in our school. The school ranks low in many categories; schools grades, and test scores are below average. People consider that our school is “ghetto”, when in reality it is not.

This novel was written in 1561 and since that date has been translated into numerous languages, allowing others the privilege of embracing his ideals. The novel is a work of fiction that centers on an island society. More uses this island society to create his idea of a perfect society including the people’s way of life, their customs, relationships, values and work ethics. With this famous novel I will be examining Ernest Callenbach’s work Ecotopia and ultimately comparing and contrasting each authors utopian ideals.

This has helped her overcome so much heartbreak, from losing my dad, my sister, and my brother to her own health issues and through it all her faith has never been shaken.
