The educational system in America contains numerous racial disparities that affects the very core of the children who is suppose to benefit from education. This disparity comes in many forms in primary schools, a teacher’s attitude being one of them (Epps, 1995). A teacher’s attitude in a classroom consisting of a racially diverse children is a large contributing factor to the academic success of their students, more specifically, the minority African American students. It is a given that all schools should employ qualified teacher who are passionate about their students and the quality of education they provide to these students. Unfortunately, that is not the case for many urban schools that house a large proportion of African American students

However, with diversity comes inequalities that people of color face throughout their lives. A particular issue in the United States, specifically in education, is unequal opportunities and treatment in regard to race. Could you ever possibly imagine a time where you couldn’t use the same bathroom as some of your classmates because the had a different skin color? This time in history was known as the Civil Rights Movement, a movement from 1954-1954, in which people fought against racism. Although the Civil Rights Movement mainly affected African Americans, but involved all of American society. Because most racism against ancient African Americans took place in southern United States, civil rights was extremely important to African Americans who lived in the south. Racism was so widely spread it even found its way into professional sports.

Affirmative action was first proposed by Vice President Richard Nixon in 1959, and would be expanded upon during the civil rights era in the 1960s to end discrimination, and be away for white people to atone for what they had done to minorities in the past. Affirmative action allows minorities who are stricken by poverty to be accepted into school that they would otherwise not be. Thought this program had good intentions and heart, in reality it would only cause discrimination to become worse. Affirmative actions must be abandoned due to the negative impact it has on our colleges. There are a lot of arguments that defend the use of affirmative action and advocate its effect on college campuses.

Minority representation on board Ethnic diversity consists of having a mix of individuals from various social, racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. An ideal ethnic diversity would include people that represent the area in which the company functions. Nearly 30 percent of directors in South Africa are African Black, Colored or Indian. This is because of the enactment of the legislation Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act, 2003 that encourages ethnic diversity at the workplace. A study has revealed that a substantial number of directors especially those from large organizations, consider it extremely important to have minority representation on their boards as it would better reflect the change in the marketplace and help in identifying growth in the minority market segments.

Racism, the act of “…prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race…”, is a major problem today. It gives people fear, doubt, shame, and sometimes guilt. In addition, racism gives people an awful perspective of life and sometimes, if one is looking up to a racist, the racist’s point of view begins to alter the person’s judgement. Racism could also lead to great conflict arising from those who heavily despise that race and maybe even mass killings, which foreshows that racism needs to be stopped and ended completely.

"All men are created equal", we were all created the same way; from our mother’s womb, and all babies are equally important, whether you are born a prince or a slave in your mother's womb, completely innocent and equal.[2] However, some people out there do not think so, they feel that due to some of us being born with physical or mental disabilities or others being born into financially insecure families it would result in significantly less opportunities in life as compared to those who are born into families that can offer them a much better way of life. Although it is true that life is not fair towards everyone, I want to say that everybody deserves the same rights and responsibilities. Nobody is or looks the same, the color of your skin, your race, or your ethnicity makes you different from one another, this does not mean that not everybody deserves the same and that some people do not deserve to be treated equally and one of these discrimination is racism, which is something we have all witnessed before.

Racism has always existed with humans. Racism is treating someone differently of unfairly simply because they belong to a different ethnic community of have a different religion or nationality. When someone believes their race is better than another and feels superior ro other people because of his of her race, is called racism. Throughout time, many people have lost their lives, or lost their families and children, and are left without homes due to racism. Racism causes wars, which could destroy humanity ultimately.

To bring justice and fairness to people with intellectual disabilities in the United States, we need to make accommodations for them. We need to bring awareness, and knowledge about them to society. Every child in public school, would take a intellectual disabilities informational class, to teach them about students and people with intellectual disabilities. In this class, they will learn how to interact with them. All special education students should attend school, no they should not be the same class as normal students.

Get prepared and always be ready!!! I'm ready for high school although it seems hard. It sounds a lot funner than Junior High, you get more freedom in high school. In junior high you can't have your phones out at all but in high school you can. So i'm ready to get there to have more freedom and i'm ready to leave junior high.

Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress. Working together is success” (Brainy Quote). From here, the concept of inclusive education, including students with and without learning disabilities as peers in the same classroom, originated. The aim of this type of education is to get students with learning disabilities involved in the society. Teachers and fellow students will also provide help for students with disabilities; in this way, students with learning disabilities will be motivated to study as they feel that they are a part of a group instead of being isolated in special places.

Task 1 When working within schools it is very important that you promote equality and diversity. You will have children with many different background for example their relgion or home life. It is becoming more aware that children are coming from families wih the same sex parents Schools are always open to children that are ELG as this is just their back ground children might speak English at school however might speak a different language at home. The most important thing in schools to get across is that they are welcome into school hat ever their background.
