19 March 2018 The Renaissance will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest time periods the world has known. From it, many of the most brilliant minds emerged, including that of Michelangelo, a Florentine sculptor and painter. During the peak of the Renaissance, Michelangelo pioneered the way people used art and sculpture to express contemporary ideas and emotions, many of which were relatively unspoken at the time. In 1475 in Florence, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was born unto a housemaid and a magistrate, the second son of five children. When the young boy was only six years old, his mother passed away, leaving his father to care for the family on a low paying job alone. He was never one to advocate for his lifestyle, but he was under so much limelight that it never mattered. He was known for a lifelong pattern of “tender relationships” with men, an interest supposedly sparked by his Renaissance rival, Leonardo da Vinci. Many of his sculptures and paintings contained nudes in all different contexts, as mentioned previously, and many also were made in Catholic intents. In his older age, Michelangelo was known for his relationship with Tommaso dei Cavalieri, a young man about seventeen to twenty as opposed to Michelangelo’s fifty seven. Historians dispute over whether this relationship was romantic or paternal, but there is strong evidence that suggests both are likely. Despite all of the idiosyncrasies the artist was known for, many of which went against the common belief of the church, Michelangelo remained a devout catholic throughout his entire life. It is even suggested through his writing that his faith only deepened near his
During the Renaissance Period, Michelangelo became one of the most influential and well-known artists in the world. His areas of work included sculpting, painting, poetry and architecture. Michelangelo’s most famous works include “The David” and “Pieta” statues, along with the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo The Italian Renaissance created a culture change for Europe, and allowed artist with the ability to think freely and express themselves, and would assist in connecting the medieval age to the modern age. How magnificent would it be to travel across the world and see many great paintings, sculptures, and amazing architect perfected by artist from many different backgrounds and styles during the Italian Renaissance? Of all the beauty and wonders in the world the main thing on my bucket list is to visit the Vatican in Rome and see the absolutely marvelous Sistine Chapel painted by the great Michelangelo. Did you know that Michelangelo did not really even prefer to paint, even though he produced such great art work?
He was later burned. Durind this time florence was invaded by france in and Michelangelo left the city. He went Rome where he was given persion to bring to life his spiritual awerness. The pietta completed in 1500 , shows the virgin mary cradlng the body of christ. This picture was so life like that audience in that time were stunned.

Leonardo Da Vinci: Paintings Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the most famous painters and the Mona Lisa was his most famous painting and portrait. My first body paragraph is about the famous painting the Mona Lisa. After that I will be talking about The Last Supper. My last paragraph will be on Saint John the Baptist. Some of Leonardo Da Vinci’s better paintings had a very big influence in the Renaissance.

When he was younger his mother had past away. Growing up Michelangelo always wanted to be a artist but never enjoyed going to school.
Michelangelo was usually punished if he was found drawing or working on anything related to art. When Michelangelo was 13 years old, his father finally relented and let him quit school. Shortly afterward, he became an artist’s apprentice and started to paint frescos (paintings done on wet plaster). His apprenticeship was under Domenico Ghirlandaio, a popular Florentine painter. (Jacobsen Michelangelo’s mother dies when he is six years old.
Michelangelo Buonarroti might be of one of the most commented artists still today but the myth around him began to take form in the eighteenth century and reflexes mostly the complexity and intimate contradictions of him as artist and person. Still his fame existed during his lifetime: Varchi made lectures about his poems, which helped to consecrate his fame as an artist but also as a poet. He was also praised as a model of humanity. Michelangelo was at one point in the later years of his life, the only surviving artists from the Golden Age of the Renaissance and one of the few artists with various biographies before his death (such as those written by Giovio, Billi, Vasari, Gelli and Condivi). During his lifetime not only was he a dedicated
He was an artist, humanist, gifted politician, and author. Lorenzo, being a poet himself, supported the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. It is said that Lorenzo was very fond of Michelangelo and treated him like family. Michelangelo lived with the family for four years. After which he went on to create such Renaissance masterpieces as the “Pieta and “David sculptures and the Sistine Chapel ceiling artwork.
Michelangelo once said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free”. If Michelangelo actually did this with every sculptor could modern artist be doing the same thing to follow in his footsteps. Michelangelo’s artwork affects modern society by influencing many modern-day artists to become sculptors, painters and more. He also influenced types of art such as frescoes and ceiling paintings. To add to this his sculptures are discussed in today’s conversations.
Michelangelo had a gigantic influence on the renaissance. He was a master at both painting and sculpting, he also was an architect, engineer, and poet. During his day he was unbeatable in his painting and sculpting skills. He had many artist study under him and help him with painting the Sistine Chapel in Vatican, but none were on par with him.

His father was forced to take a job in Caprese as a judicial administrator. After he was born his family moved from caprese to florence. There his mother became ill and died so he had to go to Settignaro.
There were a lot of historically important people in the Renaissance era, but one of the most prominent was Giorgione Barbarelli. In circa 1477, Giorgione was born in a small town called Castelfranco, just outside of Venice, Italy. Not a lot was recorded about his life, but we do know for certain that he studied under the greatest venetian master at that time. In 1490, Giorgione traveled to Venice and became the apprentice of Giovanni Bellini.
