I was always much more than a label. ”- and to that she truly was. Early Life: Coretta Scott King was born on April 27, 1927, in Marion, Alabama. She was an exceptional student and graduated valedictorian from Lincoln High School.

At the age of thirteen, she attended a Quaker school in New York State. The name of the school was the Oakwood Friends School. She lived in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Before she got married her maiden name was Lucretia Coffin. “While in school, she met her future husband, James Mott”(biography.com).

Her spouse was Kevin Noonan From 1976-1983. She received honorary law degrees from Lebman College. She took a high school entrance exam and got accepted into college. She worked hard in school. She got into a high educated school, which was Yale Law School.

Rosa park is an american icon due to her pivotal role in the civil rights movement, which was sparked by her refusal to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus to a white person in 1955, leading to her arrest and a city wide boycott of the bus system by african americans and ultimately bringing attention to the issue of segregation and inspiring other civil rights protests and movements in the united states. Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913. Leona and James McCauley, her parents, were both African Americans who worked as teachers and carpenters, respectively. Rosa Parks was raised in a segregated world where racial discrimination was commonplace. Regardless, her mother instilled in her a strong sense of self-worth and taught her to advocate for herself and others.

Her contributions, she helped passed the civil rights act. She also wrote books and she took part in the bus boycott after king’s assassination. So threw the period of time she began to change after high-school and her college

King then enrolled in Boston University after being accepted at several colleges for his doctoral study which included Yale and Edinburgh in Scotland. King then married Coretta June 1953 and they had four children.

What leader united people with the idea of equality for both races in a time of grand seperation to the point it was written law? That leader would be Marin Luther King Jr. He was a pioneer with new ideas that should of been implimented as the people ask not get resistance from the entire establishment. When people ask for change from new ideas its best to give it to them.

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. A dream that we could all live in peace, in harmony. One day, I hope to see this happened but as of now, it’s constant fighting. Yes, we have grown as a community and learned to accept, most of the time. Other times we decide putting others down is better than standing up for what we know is right.

Yolanda, the first born was a human rights activist and an actress. She was active in many projects that honored her father. Their first born son, Martin Luther King III was only 10 years old when his father was assassinated. To live up to his father’s legacy, he led the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and most recently served as the director and co-owner of the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change. Alongside him is his brother Dexter Scott King who was also a co-owner of the King Center.

The family lived in Atlanta, Georgia and then to Montgomery, Alabama, where King became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church at age twenty-five.
