Even as the main leader of the Civil Rights Movement he was not always successful in enforcing his ideals as there were many instances where the movement took a minor violent turn. Some of the younger generation wanted a more militant approach to achieving the goals of the movement as most were unhappy with the slow pace of King’s nonviolent tactics.

He graduated from college at 19 and got his sociology degree from Morehouse College. He gGot a divinity degree from Crozer Seminary and then got his doctorate in theology at Boston University. When King Jr. started his career, he was a pastor at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a pastor at thereDexter Avenue Baptist Church for six years. Then, in 1955, MLK Jr. became a social rights activist.

His father was a Baptist minister, as was his grandfather, and Martin Luther grew up to be the third minister in the family. He was a bright and intelligent young man, being the valedictorian in his high school class, attending college, and earning a doctorate degree. Of course, Martin experienced racial segregation throughout his lifetime, which led him to become involved in the civil rights movement. Influenced by Gandhi’s actions in India, he led many peaceful protests, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, in hopes of ending segregation. Martin Luther King believed in racial and ethical equality, nonviolent protests, and love and peace.

On June 18, 1953, Martin Luther king Jr. joined into marriage of love with Coretta Scott, who was also a civil rights activists, which they got married on Coretta’s family home in Marion, Alabama. A couple years later into marriage they started to make a family to which they had two sons and two daughters that would lead into their father’s footsteps.

He then enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955. In elementary school, we would always watch movies, do worksheets, or always talk about him.

But the only reason he stood up for what he believes in is because a lot of people stood up for him because a lot of people believed what he believes.
