Throughout history, there have been numerous civil rights leaders who have fought tirelessly for the equality of all people. However, one individual stands out among them as the most important civil rights leader. That individual is none other than Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King is considered one of the most influential leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. The man who killed Martin Luther King Junior was named James earl Ray. The reason Ray killed Martin Luther King was because he hated him. Every one of the speeches MLK gave he despised. Ray was going through depression at the time; partly from lack of attention because he was the youngest in a poor family.
