Thunder and rumble, I feel the wrath of God on the ocean we are sailing. Suddenly I hear a crash, and I fly across my cage violently, the yelling of the voices on the vessel in shock and suddenly I hear the words “We’re going down!” A zoo keeper comes down the the hull of the ship and begins opening the cages of animals- the zebra, the monkeys, the hounds, all released waiting patiently for my turn the zookeeper falls over. He does not move and water comes crashing into the hull-I’m going to die. I lie down on the ground as water pours in accepting my fate.

Corresponding: sailor is zebra, cook is hyena, orangutan is the mother, and Pi himself is a tiger. Maybe you cannot accept the second cruel story, but when the author tells the story of the first time has hinted us, the second story is really happened. In this way, we know that the first story is a realistic metaphor, it contains two layers: one is the metaphor of the real event; the second is through their own sentiment and sublimation of the metaphor for human nature thinking, and this second layer is the core of this book. The wonderful thing about this book is that everyone will feel very complicated after reading it, There are many feelings but do not know where to start. According to my memory, probably can be divided into several layers.

Exp1: During Pi’s and Richard Parkers struggle after huge storm they went through, the both suffered through hunger, blindness, and more painful protection. However, they both survived in the movie and in the book because Richard Parker inspired Pi by not be afraid, and to go against his fears. Pi inspired Richard Parker by surviving with him and doing what is right not by killing Pi.

Imagine going on a journey and not knowing the potential obstacles that will come up along the way. Characters or real human beings do not always know what is going to happen on their journeys nor do they know the consequences that may arise. A journey sometimes results in losing loved ones for a single chance for something good to come out of it. The people that complete a goal during these journeys have to be strong and brave. Two people that relate to this type of journey are Odysseus in the story of The Odyssey written by Homer, and John Kuol from the story “Escaping Death”.

This film is inspirational because the team overcome obstacles in that time seemed impossible

In this quote, we see the struggle to maintain a sense of self under extreme circumstances, and the deep emotional scars that remain even after liberation. The will to survive is a testament to the resilience and strength of the human

People begin to have extreme courage and strength when there are accidents. We get scared for others and dive right into help them. Some people will risk their lives to help people in need of serious help. Just like Donald Usher and Eugene Windsor, the helicopter crew, that risked their lives every time they landed in the water in Roger Rosenblatt ’s essay The Man in the Water.

This tiger can easily kill pi, but the way pi prevents this is he kills an innocent fish to feed the tiger so the it won 't kill him because it 's hungry. Pi made this choice because he wanted to survive, you might argue saying he could of done something else but he didn 't have anything else to do. In these kind of situation we all want to survive just like pi did, he did what he had to do. He shouldn 't be held accountable for what he has done because at the end of the day it 's all

How does a survivor get through any situation? Any situation could be a nonsignificant situation or life or death circumstance. An example of an nonsignificant situation is a bad hair day or destroying one’s favorite game of outfit. A life or death situation is like a natural disaster or war. What does it take for anyone to survive in these situations?

Thesis: As this classic work shows, adversity can bring out the worst in the human spirit. The Adversity of a Survivor One character who demonstrates the worst under adversity is Elie himself. For example, when Elie was marching, in front of a fiery pit, his father points out the flames: “Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. In the story, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, the main character, Pi, is changed as a person after he must kill a flying fish in order to survive. Through this, Pi’s religious morals changed as well as his personality overall. When Pi first tries to kill the fish he continues to hesitate, and has a hard time committing the action to take the life away. As stated in an excerpt, “Several times I started bringing the hatchet down, but I couldn’t complete the action… A lifetime of peaceful vegetarianism stood between me and the willful beheading of a fish” (Martel 87).

Do you have what it takes to survive? Is it more valuable to be physically or mentally strong in a life or death situation? If you’re in a critical situation you’d want to be able to both outthink the issue and be prepared for the risks and calculate everything. You’d also, if necessary, want to be able to overpower the task at hand. In order to survive, and thrive under the best possible conditions one needs to be both mentally fit and physically fit.

Pi encounters a French castaway; the castaway foolishly enters Pi’s lifeboat and is eaten by Richard Parker. After Richard Parker kills the French castaway, Pi starts using the leftover flesh for his own uses, such as fishing: “I will confess that I caught one of his arms with the gaff and used his flesh as bait” (322). In his isolated state, he thinks of nothing but survival and how he will receive his next meal. Soon after, Pi even goes to the extremity of eating the flesh of the mangled dead castaway. This deed of cannibalism barely registers in his mind as he admits, “... I ate some of his flesh.

In the movie, Life of Pi, the main character Pi Patel makes convincing arguments for the existence of God through both natural religion and revealed religion. His argument is that God exists because that is the better story. The plot of the movie is Pi telling an author his life story, including his religious experiences before, and after the shipwreck. In this essay, I will argue that Pi makes a stronger argument for the existence of God through natural religion.
