At the time of the Renaissance art was very important. Now their artwork is very significant in today's time. Renaissance has a deeper meaning than just the term “Renaissance”. The meaning of the word Renaissance is “rebirth” in the French language, but yet has more of a meaning than just the term “Renaissance”. During that time period, artist and scholars used many previous paintings from the past to recreate the paintings and try to make their new recreated paintings outdo the original piece of art. Leonardo Da Vinci was an artist in the Renaissance, who was most known for “The Last Supper’’ and the “Mona Lisa”. He was one of the best creative minds of the Italian Renaissance. Also he was very influential, he was an artist, sculptor, scientist, inventor, and engineer. Raphael was an Italian painter and architect and he was very good at what he did. Raphael’s artwork was admired for its clarity of form. He is considered one of the three greatest masters of high Renaissance. Donatello was an Italian sculptor. Donatello created some of the most famous sculptors in the history of art. He was the one who had carved the statue of David which was the most important commission he had ever done. Titian inspired many other artists and people to do art. He created portraits for art and painted to picture featuring the pope . Later on he had focused on religious artwork. Michelangelo was a world-renowned painter, sculptor, poet, and architect. He was considered one of the most famous artists in the Italian Renaissance. Art is important at the time because it explains the past of the Renaissance. Art shows the past of people. During this time, it was also very hard. Art impacted the Renaissance creatively, and changed the way people saw things. In statues and such it seemed to people that they can come alive. And the faces of the statues were calm and did not show emotion. Images of paintings in the Medieval times were very flat, but they had bright and solid colors. However, in the Renaissance times the painting was 3D like. Also, in the Renaissance times they used perspective where it was small in the background and larger in the front. In conclusion, back in the Renaissance, things were much harder than in our time. Art was completely different. We have way more artists than they did back then, too. Some things today are almost exactly the same as they were back then. Things such as paintings of people, landscapes, animals, buildings, and some people who sculpt, are almost exactly the same as things were in the Renaissance
