Curley’s wife was placed in a subordinate position when she is mostly known as Curley’s wife, under ownership of Curley. Curley’s wife was also seen as a lonely woman constantly seeking companionship from the men. She was constantly sad and needed someone she can spill her thoughts to. That led to her death. She entered the barn, searching for someone to converse with to discuss how skeptical she was over on her future on the ranch. She saw Lennie and started to discuss her dream of starring in a show and then Lennie discussed his dreams of owning his farm with George with rabbits on it. Here in this scene, the characters exchange their dreams they feel can help them escape the uncertainty and misery they constantly think of. Either way, her actions speak louder than the nasally, high pitched words that come out of her mouth. In Of Mice and Men, Curley’s wife is a lady who likes to hang out around the ranch; claiming that she’s looking for Curley. She does not get any attention from Curley, so she retorts and tries to get attention from the other men on the ranch.
Killing Lennie was never something to cross George’s mind, but to keep Lennie from suffering that's exactly what he had to do. John Steinbeck, the author of Mice and Men, wanted to show the extreme difficulties that some loved ones may face in extreme situations, such as the situation between George and Lennie. George had to take care of Lennie on a daily basis and was always having to bail him out of problems that he caused for himself because of his mental state. These problems didn’t help George’s situation of trying to get enough money to get his own land because he was always having to leave good jobs because of Lennie. Before Lennie made the worst mistake and sealed his fate, George and Lennie were doing well at their new job.

Even though it is clear that Lennie is incapable of making a decision for himself, others might think he is capable of deciding for himself. It can be proven that he is incapable of thinking for himself.
