Heroism in our culture could be very misinterpreted. People tend to think that hero’s need to be perfect because they are role models, saviors, or peacemakers. An example of a hero for me is Josh Hamilton, an outfielder for the Texas Rangers. Josh Hamilton started out as a power hitting prospect for the Tampa Bay Rays but struggled with addictions to drugs. He spent a short stint for the Reds before the Texas Rangers picked him up. While his time in Texas, he became a superstar. The year 2009 was a breakout season for him. He won the homerun derby and set the record for most home runs ever in the competition. In 2010, he led the Rangers to the World Series for the first time and won an MVP by hitting over .350.
