Jonbenet Ramsey’s body was found on December 26, 1996. Her family was essentially the American Dream. Jonbenet was a toddler beauty queen; she was following in the steps of her mother (Patsy Ramsey) who was Miss West Virginia in 1977. Her father (John Ramsey) was President and Chief Executive Officer of Access Graphics, they were pretty rich. Jonbenet also had a brother named Burke Ramsey who was nine at the time of the murder, and who now lives in Charlevoix, MI. There is a ton of speculation of what happened the night of Jonbenet's murder. The murder was never solved, and it will probably remain that way. On that dreadful night (December 25, 1996), Patsy and John came home from a Christmas party and found Jonbenet asleep. They took her …show more content…
Some may find this piece of evidence not important, but the night of her death Jonbenet did wet the bed; Patsy HATED that Jonbenet was wetting her bed. That night she could’ve got so mad at her and accidentally did the deed. The ransom note was analyzed and Patsy’s writing was said to be a possible match to the note, but it was inconclusive. Patsy also found the note, which was placed on the back of the stairs (the part you see while walking up). This is odd because she claims to have found it while walking down the stairs and it would essentially be impossible for her to see the pages. As mentioned earlier Patsy was a beauty queen, could it be possible that she was jealous of her daughters …show more content…
What kind of murderer is comfortable taking their time writing a three page ransom note while the family sleeps and could wake up at any moment? Evaluation - John Ramsey: I don’t believe John killed his daughter. He could’ve been told to go check the basement or maybe he was trying to see if his daughter was hiding. Lots of people find the bodies of a murder and are not the killer, but are thought of being the reason the body is there. As odd as it is that he found her in a room barely used he doesn’t have a motive. Also, the handwriting was found to definitely not be his. As for the raping the object that was used was said to be very small; like the size of the end of a paintbrush (which was never found). Therefore I don’t think John murdered Jonbenet. Evaluation - Burke Ramsey: I don’t think Burke committed the crime either. Even though his behavior was odd. After the murder Burke was secluded from other children. He wasn’t able to develop his social skills like a normal child. During the interviews I believe he was nervous because he wasn’t exposed to anything like this before. Is it possible he could have killed her? Yes. I don’t presume that is the case
JonBenét Ramsey: Unsolved Murder After looking over all of the evidence in the JonBenét Ramsey murder case it is clear to me that the Ramsey family murdered JonBenét. I believe that the brother Burke Ramsey actually killed JonBenét but Patsey and John conducted the covered up. Out of all the suspects that were interrogated he was the only one that stood out to me. Burke was the only person that could of done it.
JonBenet was the six-year-old daughter of Pasty and John Ramsey (Saferstein, 2015). This family, including JonBenet’s nine year old brother Burke, lived in Boulder, Colorado and sometime during December 25-26, 1996, JonBenet was murdered most likely inside the home (Saferstein, 2015). Pasty Ramsey maintains after a party with friends and family she put JonBenet to
John picked JonBenét up and took her body upstairs, by doing this he basically destroyed the crime scene and forensics evidence. After JonBenét’s body was found the Ramsey’s stopped cooperating with the police and hired a lawyer. Could they be more obvious? And where is Burke
“During an afternoon search of their Colorado home, Jonbenét’s body was found by her father in the wine cellar, and she had been tied up and covered with a blanket” (Gordon, 5).. The police immediately brought the body to the autopsy to find any clues of who and how she died. “According to the autopsy, JonBenet had been struck on the head with an unknown object with enough force to knock her unconscious, before being strangled to death” (Solin). The autopsy doctor found DNA samples in the child's underwear and in her fingernails “The DNA left in a stain found in the child's underwear reportedly does not match DNA samples provided by dozens of family and
Burke Ramsey was a nine-year-old at the time of this murder happening. There were many theories that Burke possibly was jealous of how his family would treat JonBenét so much better than him and them giving her more attention, so maybe he wanted to kill his sister, and his parents helped him hide it. " According to an old family friend of the Ramseys, Burke was easily angry and had struck JonBenet with a golf club after getting mad, leaving her with a scar on her face (CBS Real Crime). This behavior shows that Burke was capable of being fatally violent with JonBenet. Burke’s response to questions in his investigative interview are very odd, and they do not show any feelings of a typical child.
The note was written by someone who claimed to have kidnapped their daughter. Since it was the day after Christmas, Bolder Police Force was understaffed. The mistakes that these police officers made is the main reason why JonBenet’s murder is unsolved. Law enforcement and friends drifted in and out of the home all day. John Ramsey says Linda Arndt, one of the main detectives, told him to search the home from top to bottom to see if there was anything suspicious.
The only people that knew about that room were the Ramsey family. Along with this, John Ramsey, the father, was the one to find the body, right after the police searched the house for hours. The police never knew this room existed until after John found the body. Burke was also said to have a big history of anger issues. More examination led to finding stun gun marks and Burke’s DNA on JonBenet’s body.
Nobody knows exactly what is true and what is not. In 2006 John Mark Karr was arrested after confessing to the murder of Ramsey, however, fingerprints did not match samples that were found. The police that discovered the body of Ramsey later on spoke that the parents of the victim were suspicious and didn't seem to react how you would think. This led to a family theory that Patsy Ramsey, mother of the little girl, accidentally killed JonBenet in a fit of rage after a bed-wetting
She dialed 911 immediately. When police arrived, they found no evidence of forced entry and no JonBenet. Hours later police asked Mr.Ramsey to search the house. That is when Jhon Ramsey found his daughter dead in a room in the basement. Twenty years later the case of JonBenet Ramsey is still unsloved.
With these suspects interrogated and their stories checked the Ramsey couple are still at the top of this list. Out of the eight suspects, only one confessed to this horrendous crime has been made by John Karr; John admitted to killing JonBenet in August of 2006 but after authorities carefully reviewed where he was the day of and surrounding the murder they realized it was unlikely he had done it because he was in Alabama at the time (Worthen). With the Ramseys being the lead suspects in 1998 Boulder county convened a grand jury to see if an indictment could be supported by the evidence at the time(Puffer-Rothenberg). It took this jury a year to come to a conclusion, within this time frame another jury voted to indict the Ramseys for their “alleged” involvement in their daughter's murder, however, D.A Alex Hunter decided not to file charges even though this jury's verdict was guilty(Worthen). After this the 1998 jury concluded that no charges could be filed based off of the evidence at hand (Puffer-Rothenberg).
As the family and friends grieved over eating pie, one of the family friends decided to entirely clean the kitchen. This ironically erased tons of evidence considering the kitchen was right next to the basement where JonBenet was later found. When the police came back, they were not even the ones to find the body of the beauty queen. Though French admitted to not checking “in the darkened room on the other side lay the bludgeoned and strangled body … of Jonbenet Ramsey” (Glick, Keene-Osborne, and Murr). When John Ramsey was the one to carry the body upstairs, much of the evidence was contaminated.
JonBenet Ramsey who was a young loving beauty queen of Colorado, who’s live was taken way too early. JonBenet was murdered in her home in Boulder Colorado on December 26, 1996 at the age of six. After completing my research, I was able to make a prediction of who I believed murdered the incent child, and it did not take much research to see the mistakes made by the Boulder Police Department. The Boulder Police Department made numerous mistakes in the JonBenet Ramsey case.
Burke Ramsey was too young to be held accountable for his actions, consequently, Patsy and John Ramsey could have been held accountable had the investigation been conducted appropriately, gathering all the evidence available, as well as separately interviewing each member of the
On Christmas night in the year of 1996 a six old girl named Jonbenet Ramsey was killed and found in the family's wine cellar, long with a ransom note. After a christmas party Jonbenet's mother Patsy, took her sleeping daughter up to bed around 9:00 pm, but the next morning around 5:00 am her daughter was gone. Almost all of the evidence was strange starting with the placement of the body, the 911 call, the ransom note, the window, and the victim's stomach contents. Jonbenet’s body was found in the family home wine cellar, but the placement of her body was strange. The detectives that worked the case did not understand why the killer would leave Jonbenet in the home that she was supposed to have been taken from.
Since Karr has officially claimed he did not kill JonBenet, investigators have been doing more research to see who is the true killer. However, Patsy Ramsey the mother of Jonbenet Ramsey has been also questioned if she was the one that really killed her daughter. A few days after JonBenet was
