On June 9th 2008 a phone call was made to the Mesa police department at 7 pm to report the murder of Travis Victor Alexander. After a brief investigation and at the insistence of many friends, police arrested and charged Jodi Ann Arias with First Degree Murder. There are many instances where the death penalty are questionable, but Jodi Arias is not someone who deserves to be spared. After the prosecutor proved premeditation, and that the murder was especially heinous and caused excessive suffering, it is clear that she deserves the death penalty. The officer who took the call stated that it looked staged. On the 28th of May Jodi called and asked her ex boyfriend Darryl Brewer to borrow two 5 gallon gas cans. She then tells her family she is taking a road trip to see Ryan Burns in Utah. Ryan Burns was a potential beau and turned out to be her alibi. On 3 June Jodi drove her own car 90 miles south of Yreka CA to Redding CA and rented a white Ford Focus as a blonde. A Ford Focus holds 13.5 gallons of gas. She has 3 five gallon gas cans, another was bought at Walmart, so she had 15 gallons of excess fuel. That is roughly 440 miles without having to stop for gas. Redding is not on route to Salt Lake City, UT. On her trip to visit Darryl Brewer in Monterrey CA she stopped and begged money from a Paul Stern so she could get to Travis because he was seeing other women. Stern stated she was desperate and that he did not understand her need to see a man who was not interested in her. She and Travis had not been in a relationship for over 16 months at this point. Travis had made it clear through a series of very explicit text messages on the that he wanted nothing to do with her. When she finally left Monterrey to drive to Mesa …show more content…
“This fog is not so deep that it stops you from attempting to fabricate evidence, right?” (Fairall, 2013). On her journey to distance herself from the crimes scene and the murder of a man she still claims to love, she cleaned the crime scene, dragged Travis's body back to the shower and washed his body to get rid of her DNA. She attempted to destroy the camera, but left the memory card intact so her presence was belied by her own stupidity. On the wall where he staggered to escape her attack, a hand print mixed with her DNA and Travis's DNA was found. She has admitted that she “woke up” from a fog in the desert covered with blood and that she got rid of the murder weapons. While she was in Salt Lake City visiting Ryan Burns, she was pulled over because the rear license plate on the Focus was flipped upside down, and the front plate was removed. This lends to the idea that Jodi was trying to evade detection by street

The representation of the human body and art has been controversial since the introduction of performance art. Performance art constitutes as any activity presented in front of a live audience and incorporates music, dance, poetry, or theater. The art of using body as an art form came about in the 1960s, when artists had the desire to communicate directly to their audience through movement and form. This influx of trade led to a more stabilized merchant or middle class, causing towns and cities to be built. These cities meant a growing economy, and in turn more innovation and art.
Twenty-seven stab wounds. A gunshot to the face. Throat slashed from ear to ear. These are not examples of multiple murders, but rather the gruesome details of Travis Alexander’s death (Archer, 2013). Jodi Arias, charged with his murder, consistently lied throughout the ordeal, changing her story three different times and demonstrating a history of deceiving people on even the smallest of details (Archer, 2014).
