His parents separated in 1942 , and three years later they got a call saying his father passed while serving in Italy. Emmett's mother was a well educated women both academically and professionally. Al Capone was born in 1899 in Brooklyn in New York. He was born Alphonse Gabriel Capone. His parents Teresa Capone and Gabriele Capone were Italian immigrants. His father were a barber and his mother worked as a sewer. How could Gabriel Capone end up as a mobster (gangster) and a murderer?

In July of 1955, Emmett turned 14 and in August his great uncle, Moses Wright, visited Chicago and invited both Emmett and his cousin Wheeler to visit him down in Mississippi. When Mamie and Emmett hugged on the morning when he went to catch the train to Mississippi, neither of them knew it would be the last time they would see each other while Emmett was alive.

He was born in 1882 to a highly regarded Jewish family in New York City. At an early age, he loved numbers which led him to be intrigued by gambling. He was so intrigued by gambling that at sixteen he dropped out of school and started focusing all his time on gambling. He eventually made an adequate amount of money which resulted in him becoming a loan shark and in the 1900s crime became his sole business. He was nicknamed “the Brain” and “the Big Bankroll” due to him being the brains of an operation while others did his illicit work and for always having a huge role of cash with him.

Shortly after leaving school, Capone became affiliated with a notorious street gang, ‘Five Points Gang’. Al Capone met Johnny Torrio within this gang. When his father died the king of his tribe took him in as a favor to Nelson’s father, who had helped him become king of the tribe. At the University College of Fort Hare, Nelson started for a Bachelor of Arts degree, but did not finish because he participated in a boycott. The king was mad when he came back to the Great Place at Mqhekezweni and said that he would arrange marriages for Nelson and Justice, the king’s son and Nelson’s cousin.
