Islam DBQ

I will be writing about how the Early Islamic Empire expanded. Islam expanded by Muslims invading other territories. This helps them expand Islam because once they invade; they take charge, and expand. This information is from Document A. Another way they expanded Islam was that they joined forces.

Military conquest was a primary reason why Islam spread so quickly. As demonstrated in the “The Spread of Islam” map from Document C, the reader can clearly see that everywhere the Islamic World spread, a military campaign occured. A military campaign means plans for war or battle. Although it is possible, it is unlikely that the Islamic teachings just spread. Most likely, the teachings spread through a forced movement, or a military conquest.

In 1000 there was political fragmentation because it spread too far. The Commercial Network passed the religious message around and it spread quickly, because its emotional content and strong social bonds made it appealing to common people. Eventually more people started to understand the faith practiced by the commercial, political, and the scholarly upper classes even while they remain attached to their Sufi ways. Islam embraced Persian literature, Turkish ruling skills, and Arabic language which made it become more accommodating for the people.

Lastly, Muslims sent numerous military conquests into Europe, Asia, and Africa. The first reason that Islam spread quickly was the trade with other civilizations. Throughout the Middle East there were many trade routes that went through Islam’s holy cities. According to Desmond Stewart, Mecca, an Islamic holy city, was at a crossroads

Islam spread so quickly, because of trade, devoted followers and invasion of armies. Trade helped Islam spread quickly. According to Doc A, Mecca was prosperous and important since it was at the crossroads of caravan trade. Because Mecca was at the crossroads of trade (Islam was there) many foreigners became introduced to Islam and they expressed that idea to other people. Another way that trade spread was by devoted followers.

Islam was created by Muhammad through Allah. At first it was a very hated concept. Many years later it would flourish into a loved religion and it would spread very fast. Three of the main reasons that Islam spread were all the merchants and their trade,it’s great and powerful army,and the way how it treated the conquered people differently. The main reason that Islam spread fast was because of their trade routes.

However, it wasn’t only money that made Islam spread so quickly, it was also because information spread rapidly since people were so open to learning and discovery. Collectively this openness lead the Muslim people to read and learn from one another. They made many discoveries and created beautiful communities with hospitals and schools to spread their knowledge. The discovery of paper made it possible to create books which allowed the spread these ideas to anyone who could read. In conclusion, the Islamic Empire and the Muslim religion expanded quickly because they were powerful and smart conquerors who used new ideas of education and fairness in the way that they treated people, all of these creations and ideas improved the quality of the

Trade increased dramatically after the Mongols came into power and secured the Silk Roads making trade a lot more profitable and a lot less dangerous. This made the issue of trading come to light even more as it became more prevalent in people's everyday life. After the fall of the Mongols western nations raced to find new ways around the Silk Road as they did not want to trade through Muslim controlled land.

Why did the religion of Islam spread so quickly? In the 600’s the religion of Islam started to spread quickly. The religion of Islam spread so quickly because of complex and numerous trade routes, strong military conquests, and strong and convincing religious messages. According to the holy text of the Muslims, in 610 CE a merchant named Muhammad went to a cave outside the city of Mecca to meditate.

During the 600’s, Islam began to spread fast throughout the region, but they’re many reasons why Islam is still around today and has been successful in gaining followers since then. But why did it spread so fast? It could be because of the followers Muhammad had, and the routes that Islam traveled on that it became the phenomenon that it is today. Why is it a well known religion today? The devoted followers are the base of the answer.
