A healthcare system should include an interprofessional team that works well together. If everyone in the interprofessional team is not cooperative or passionate about building the group, this may impact a patient’s outcome. The goal of an interprofessional team within a healthcare system is to provide the finest quality of care for their patients. If one or multiple cannot put the effort to work with others, the intended result may be corrupt. It is vital for healthcare interprofessional teams to function as a whole to provide the greatest result. There are many factors that contribute to patient outcomes. If nurses and healthcare providers are experiencing patient burnout, how will that affect patient outcomes? We all know where this is going. Patient burnout may cause patient outcomes to be poor. In an effort to create more efficient and effective health care services, decision makers and organizational leaders have looked to the implementation of interprofessional healthcare teams to deliver care together as opposed to the traditional model of healthcare delivery one that sees practitioners working alone in silos (Tomblin Murphy, Alder, MacKenzie & Rigby, 2010; Weinberg, Cooney-Miner, Perloff, Babington, & Avgar, 2011). Participants of different health professions working together in a collaborative model can enhance teamwork that ultimately benefits patient outcomes. Implementing tools such as transparency, relationship-building skills, and ongoing training can accomplish impactful results that one individual alone might not be able to accomplish (White-Williams & Shirey, 2022, p. 5). An IPCP model provides enhanced patient outcomes, increased productivity, and better communication among healthcare professionals. Robertson et al. , (2023) stated an IPCP model could allow improved work-life balances for interprofessional teams (p. 37).

The beauty of working in healthcare is when physicians, practitioners and other disciplinary can work together as professional. Interprofessional collaboration is when a health care professional can collective work together as a team in a positive and respect environment (Sangster-Gormley, 2015). Collaborative team members are not threatened by each other, they exchange their knowledge and expertise (Sangster-Gormley, 2015). They flow in a constructive environment that foster positive decision-making and problem-solving. Collaboration is a major factor in successful Nurse practitioner integration (Sangster-Gormley, 2015).
It is perceived that multi-disciplinary collaboration when it comes to service-user care is linked to more positive outcomes and experiences (Clifton et al., 2007). Teams which are able to communicate and are well coordinated have a lower rate of error (Despins, 2009). An effective team can be achieved through an effective model of communication, where members of each profession can openly share their opinions and challenge the opinions of others, in the hopes of improving service-user care and thus service-user safety. High quality, accessible, and patient care which is considered to be patient-centered is crucial for quick and quality recovery (Wilkinson, 2012). Plans require visions that involve the creation of interprofessional competencies by students who are planning to take up nursing as their profession. Providing such skills to students will ensure that they get into the workforce ready to engage in the effective creation of teamwork and even team-based care (Eastman, 2010). My current station of work is an example where continuing competence is to build on each professional nurse. They are expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration so as to ensure best practices are adhered to.
Introduction Over the modules pertaining to Interprofessional Learning (IPE), I have studied the value of an education in collaborating with co-workers, regardless of distinct minds, in order to serve patients in need of medical attention. This matter interest mem because, so far all of my current efforts are intended for the prodigious outcome of becoming an outstanding Physician Assistant (PA). I understand that in order to be one of the best PAs, aside from earning the credentials of a PA, I must also be IPE trained in order to avoid negative and preventable outcomes. This reflection will help summarize my perspective on what I have obtained so far from IPE training.
In an acute care setting, I think is a beneficial to have interprofessional collaboration to optimize care. Most doctors have a specialty in a particular area, so I believe that they should be treating their area in a patient instead of having just one physician treating the patient. Also it think that it is important to have a pharmacist as part of the interprofessional team because they are experts in drug therapy so they can focus more on making sure that the patient is getting the correct drug, dose, and making recommendations to drug therapy if necessary. Including different professions into the healthcare team helps optimize patient care because dividing up the work allows each member can focus on their area of expertise. Every morning,
This framework includes six competency domains that are essential for collaboration, they include: interprofessional communication; client-centered care; team functioning; collaborative leadership; and interprofessional conflict resolution (site). These domains describe knowledge, skills and attitude on what it needed to work together. These competencies are learned by each profession since there is no level of skill or practice required to utilize each competency in new experiences (cite). In RNAO’s Developing and Sustaining Interprofessional Health Care, expanded on these domains and identifies the importance of the group process in interprofessional care. This guideline also talks about how empathy is an important part of developing relationships with team members.
I thought about nursing burnout through watching the video by speaker Madelyn Blaire. Burnout is categorized as physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion. Burnout can lead to dulled emotions and detachment. I wonder why nurses are burning out.
Khalili, Hall & Deluca (2014) support Ndoro (2014) by stating that there is competition and hierarchies between health-care professionals, preventing collaborative working. The aim of interprofessional practice is to replace these barriers with co-operation and equality to provide person-centred care. Khaili, Hall & Deulca (2014) go on to explain that failures to implement collaborative practice has led to destruction of care, disappointment for both clients and practitioners and poor quality of care is then the outcome. Not everyone agrees collaborative working is beneficial.

I used to overlook this notion as a simple concept that’s easy to accomplish within a team. However, I’ve learnt that it is not so easily achieved. Functional interprofessional collaboration is integral in delivering optimal health care and promotion. Successful interprofessional collaboration is important for nursing students, such as myself, as it is a concept and skill that is applicable to multiple contexts. My experience in an elementary school has given me the chance for mutual learning and collaboration with non-health professionals within the broader context of the community.
Working in a hospital setting with a team that has members from many disciplines can sometimes lead to issues that are easily solved if only they are acknowledged. Some of the major issues within IP care are philosophical differences, disparity in power amongst the health care professionals (HCP), communication between the members, and inexperience in team working. Nurses fatigue is growing problem nurse face each day in the healthcare environment, and he can be caused by long hours, sleep deprivation, and possibly by accepting extra assignments can be dangerous for both nurses and patient. These inadequacies can result in major implications for the health and safety of registered nurses and can compromise patient care which can lead to fatalities. (American Nurses Association, 2014). In my experience, being fatigued from working much 12-hour shifts consecutively was very difficult as I felt extremely tired, resulting in lack of focus, missing important details during the handing over the process with impaired cognitive functioning. This I found was detrimental to the patients and myself as it impedes quality and has a deleterious effect on patient safety.
