In the novel Dreamland Burning by Jennifer Latham, many of the characters in the book can connect with the reader, having characters that are influential causes a larger impact on the reader. Will is the most influential character from Dreamland Burning because he is intelligent and sympathetic. In Dreamland Burning, Will is one of the intelligent characters introduced. After following his mother's orders, Will picked up Angelina's family and brought them to his home, his mother hinted at keeping them hidden while walking into the house: “Which I understood straight off was her way of telling me we couldn’t let anyone catch sight of Angelina’s family, so we should pretend we were unloading a mattress into her quarters” (Latham 224). This shows how Will is intelligent and can put pieces together. He realized what his mom wanted him to do without her saying it out loud. He also had an idea of what would happen to all of them if they got caught sneaking the family into the home.
In the novel Forgotten Fire by Adam Bagdasarian, Vahan Kenderian witnessed his world fall apart around him. First, his wise and disciplinary Father is taken away and never heard from again, then his two oldest brothers are shot in front of his eyes. Finally, he is taken away from his home and taken to a dilapidated inn. After he and his brother run away, he is forced to travel across Turkey with nowhere to go. Without his father’s wise words, he is forced to repeat that it all will build character and make him stronger.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a book that is put in the feature and the firefighters’ job is to burn books or magazines because the books or magazines could give the people knowledge. During the book, Guy Montag’s job is to burn any books or paper but he feels as if there is an attraction between him and the books. Through Montag’s journey, he went through a couple of different scenarios in which he could have made different choices. Montag made some decisions that were good throughout the book and also he made a couple of bad decisions throughout the book that could have affected how the book was going to be laid out. One choice that could have gone either way for Montag was his choice of showing his books to his wife.
