Ethics are “rules” or guidelines that people should follow. In the veterinary world the ethics are set by the AVMA and by NAVTA. Ethics are set up to have members of a Veterinary staff to have high standards and good moral consciousness. NAVTA is organization that stands for the National Association Veterinary Technicians in America. NAVTA has a code of ethics that focuses on both practicing medicine and protecting the profession. (Prendergast) Veterinarians are members of the AVMA and of whom earn an academic degree to practice medicine and adhere to progressive codes of ethical conduct; which is known as the Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics (PVME). (AVMA)
The first ethical code is that all veterinary technicians should aid the society and the animals by providing excellent care and service to the animals. To me that means one should be careful with the words and how it is used, when giving bad news to clients. Making the ethical choice maybe putting the animal out of pain even though it will pain the owner; by offering compassion and understanding toward the person who has to say goodbye to his or her favorite pet will make a terrible situation hurt less.
Next in the code of ethics is that all technicians should remain competent through the commitment to life- long learning. Meaning that no client wants a hesitant technician because his or her pet is their baby and not knowing what one is doing is scary; because the client is trusting the technician to do his or her job with confidence. The technician should always be open-minded to new ways and techniques to help one improve
Ethics are the difference between right or wrong, to follow laws, what humans are supposed to do, common sense, rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or culture. Charlie Gordon is a slow person that was experimented on to be more intelligent. Charlie Gordons doctors acted ethically when they performed surgery on him to make him smart. The doctors had all medical indications and agreed to do the operation (Siegler). Some say Charlies doctors did not act ethically when they did the operation on him because its not natural for humans to do that.

Being able to patiently educate others is also important because veterinary techs must counsel and train animal owners how to properly care for their pets. Similar to medical positions, excellent attention to detail will be needed for accurately recording data, performing diagnostic tests and administering medication to animals. Veterinary techs must feel naturally compassionate towards sick pets and worried owners, but they must be able to stay emotionally strong and make difficult decisions, such as putting an injured animal to sleep. Prerequisites Students should be prepared to meet the

When I think of a physician and their characters I immediately think of the traits listed in this honor code. A physician must be responsible and diligent. They must be able to be honest and responsible enough to put their patient 's best interest as a top priority. When I started working at the Hunt Regional Medical Center I took a HIPPA regulation class and took it very seriously. I was very careful not to share any information about any patient that I might have seen during my volunteer work or shadowing.

They observe animals behavior, prepare them for any surgeries and exams, first aid and nursing care, take lab samples or tests, x-rays, responsible of animal records, and dispense shots medication or treatments to the animal patients. The environment that vet techs work in can range from an animal clinic to a zoo. I personally would prefer an animal hospital or clinic. As communication plays a distinguished role in hospitals and veterinary offices, so do interpersonal relations and interpersonal communication skills. Specifically, the job of a veterinary technician requires successfully communicating with clients, as well as staff either in hospital or veterinary office. Moreover, the specific feature of work these specialists is they should associate with one another or with clients on a regular basis. Certainly, communication may and does take place on an informal level, after the working day. The described connections make the notion of “interpersonal relations” an exceptionally important aspect of life within a hospital or veterinary office.
Generally, ethics is defined as the rule for carrying out certain behaviors by distinguishing between acceptable and unacceptable behavior (Resnik, 2015). In other words, ethics assists in determining whether a decision is right or wrong when given a choice. As a matter of course, decision-making is first predisposed by personal ethic that is constructed on personal experience and conscience (Fritzsche & Oz, 2007) .
