Delbalco proclaims three major arguments in favor of a college degree, which include economic, political, and self-development factors. The newer generation may not be getting higher education compared to the former. Delanco expresses his personal concern about the fact that American High Education is suffering from a calamity. He says “college doors” remain closed for numerous students.

Is college still important and relevant? The question is answered and confirmed when Liz Addison, author of “Two Years Are Better than Four”, wrote a counter argument in order to disprove the opposing views of Rick Perlstein, the author of, “What’s the Matter with College”. The topic that is being brought to light is the subject of whether or not college still matters. Perlstein that college is no longer what it used to be. It was after reading Perlstein’s article that Addison masterfully wrote her counter argument which successfully contradicted the opinionated, inaccurate views of Rick Perlstein.

In his opinion, whether or not to attend college is a personal decision that should be thoroughly thought through. When weighed with the unrealistic prerequisites, the financial expenses, and the time needed to obtain a degree, many people will find that attending college will not be beneficial to them. Speaking of this Murray attests, “The question here is not whether the traditional four-year residential college is fun or valuable as a place to grow up, but when it makes sense as a place to learn how to make a living.

Students often leave high school with the mentality that they must enter a college. However, in the book, Is College Worth It?, by William J. Bennett and David Wilezol debates the positive and negative aspects of attending college. It is not known which was the first university to appear in the United States, but the most notorious college to be established in the 1600s was Harvard University. Since the 1600s, colleges have only been increasing in an abundant of states in the United States. Unfortunately, Bennett and Wilezol, first two chapters introduce the negative aspects of college; and, chapters three and four are universal arguments that go against each other.

Researchers have a variety of opinions on whether college is worth paying the tuition. Those who don't receive college degrees may have the chance to pursue personal achievements that may not have been available at college because of their own personal lifestyles. Although, those who do receive college degrees have more opportunities and beneficiaries in life than those who don't. In the long term, people who seek to attend college and earn a degree are more likely to be successful and life, and are presented with more job opportunities compared to those who don't attend

The Value of a College Degree Having a college degree is arguably one of the most important things you can achieve in your lifetime. In today’s society, it is getting much more difficult to survive without one. Most places of business that offer substantial wages and benefits require some sort of college degree. Most believe that college helped them grow as a person and helped them discover who they are. People who attend college are more likely to succeed, have financial stability, and are able to get steady jobs.

For many people, college is an important key for their future. Some people go to college for the job opportunities and the new windows it can open. Others go just for the education and experience. A good education is beneficial from many different viewpoints; in truth, it is a possibility that one's adult life could be much harder than people care to think. One can have better wealth, is less likely to be unemployed, and a much higher chance of being closer to your family.

A college education is valuable for many walks of life, no matter the financial or social situation. For the dreamers, college will bring them the to the dream. For the logical thinkers, college will bring them hours of thought. For the financially cautious, college will bring them a profit. Articles and statistics done on colleges go by averages, but not everyone is average.

During the same period, I know of my friends that decide to continue their education by enrolling in a university and work to complete a Bachelor’s Degree to obtain a job in their specific field. From my experience and perspective, attending a two year college surpass to a university due to tuition and class size.
