The motivation, passion, and the internal will to want to succeed in life has always dwelled within me, so ultimately, all I needed was to find what interest me in life. In the beginning, I found myself staring down the road of becoming a teacher or dental hygienist. At first the idea of becoming a teacher seemed like a prominent, and fulfilling job. I get to convey knowledge to groups of young individuals, I also get to work in a setting with other mature adults who share my passion, and I have the opportunity to work with children; but, ultimately, there was just one main component missing for me, and that was the hands-on aspect. Becoming a dental hygienist has not only been just a dream of mine, but also my fathers. From a young age, my father started inspiring me to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. After countless hours of watching videos, speaking to advisors about the career path, and shadowing underneath Dr. Soltanian’s dental hygienist by the name Ms. Lopez that I solidified the idea of becoming a dental hygienist. I fell in love with becoming a dental hygienist after the first day of shadowing her. The idea of being involved in the field of dentistry has reinforced the idea of promoting proper oral hygiene not just within myself, but with others too. It intrigues me to learn about the various diseases and conditions that can manifest without proper care taken off a person’s teeth. I think people underestimate the power and overall importance of brushing, and flossing of the teeth on a regular basis. The career that fascinates me and what I plan to be when Im older, is a Dental Hygienist. A dental hygienist is a stressful job, but it helps a lot of people. You are helping people get better teeth and even look better, because when people have straight pretty teeth, they seem to have an upgrade in their looks. I haven’t always wanted to be a dental hygienist, I had many other career choices. But, something about making people smile when I’m the reason they look good doing it makes me happy.

If the hygienist would have done her duties in an ethical manner and in compliance with the laws and regulations, the issues could be avoided. Due to her this unethical professional practice, more patients have health issues. This will also be a risky matter for the continuity of her profession as a hygienist. Hence, the hygienist had to ensure a duty of care to the patients with her quality services.
The career field that I have chosen to go into is the medical field. In the medical field I would like to become a dental hygienist. The background that I have on dental hygienist is that you exam gums, clean teeth, and teach about oral care. The research that I have already done on this profession is a dental hygienist annual salary and required hour of work. Some more research I utilized is how many years of college are needed, what you do while at work, and if you work by yourself or who you work with.
Louis, I like that you addressed how our roll as dental hygienists is essential to the education and preventative treatment provided to patients. A major part of what we do for our patients is counsel and teach them appropriate oral hygiene strategies in hopes of encouraging the patient maintain their oral health.

Dental Hygiene Program Essay Introduction When you are young, you are asked: "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Most children would reply by saying a superhero, a professional basketball player, a model, etc. My response was always, someone who can make a difference in an individual's life. Finding out how I was going to do that exactly was challenging until I reached my junior year in high school.
There are many different career paths and so many jobs for people to choose. Different people are made special for different jobs. I however have chosen to become a Dental Hygienist. I feel this career is the best choice for me. I think good dental hygiene is very important and I take pride in keeping my teeth clean and healthy.
Ever since I was young, dentistry had sparked my interest for my career. Dentistry appeals to me chiefly because I had always wanted to be involved in a profession where I can help people. My love towards human biology especially human teeth also contributes to my career choice. Most importantly, I find human teeth interesting, often fascinating. Due to my compassionate nature, I have since long known that I would want to pursue dentistry as my career because I get to form relationships with my patients, work hand in hand with many people on a face to face basis.
