Journal #4 I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and I am on page 304. This book is about a girl named Scout that lives with her brother Jem, her friend Dill, her father Atticus, and her housekeeper Calpurnia. She has many adventures with the boys and learned many great lessons from Atticus. In particular, there is the case of Tom Robinson in which Atticus defends him. The kids observe the trial in the balcony with the colored people.

In the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee wrote about a family of three. Atticus, a widow husband, raises his children, Jem and Scout, along with a maid named Calpurnia. The book takes place in Maycomb, Alabama during the Great Depression. Throughout the book, the reader is presented with racism which is something that Jem and Scout did not understand in the beginning. A big, specific event in the book was Tom Robinson’s case.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a well know book that elaborates on racial, and social equality. Harper Lee authored, and published this book in July of 1960. The book is about a father with two curious children named Jeremy, and Scout. They learn many life lessons throughout the novel, helping them understand the state of racial and social inequality. Atticus their father is very educated, and a wise man.

Journal #5 I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and I am on page 376. This book is about a girl named Scout who lives with brother Jem, aunt Alexandra, and father Atticus. The kids have learned a lot from the experiences with people in the town like Boo Radley and Tom Robinson. When Tom died it affects the whole town for a little bit. When the kids were attacked by Bob Ewell, but Boo Radley came to save them.
