They need to be organized, so everything is laid out in front of them. Getting organized, and preparing yourself is a great way to get great grades in school.
Step one is to attend all of the classes. One may think that skipping out on class once or twice is fine, but then once or twice then becomes a few here and there, which then leads to being gone all the time. It may be the boring class that no one ever pays attention in, or it may be the class that is really easy to understand. Either way, students need to get to class. Being in class and absorbing the material is a great way to understand what is going on. It also is a great way to get close with the professors. By not showing up, you will gain that advantage. Some professors give out participation points. A student 's grade can slip when they do not attend class due to a of lack of participation. Instead of forgetting about an assignment that is due tomorrow, a student can already be ahead of the game by knowing when things are due. One way is to get a planner. A planner is a great way to keep organized. Use the syllabus the teachers give you, and write down the assignments that are due ahead of time. This allows the student to get a look of what is coming up. Get a binder that keeps everything separate, "Keep homework, tests, and class papers in central location" (10 Tips). It helps the student know exactly where to find something if they need it. Also, old homework and papers so that they can be reused to study for future
How can you graduate if you don’t show up and are actively engaged in each class? The purpose of attending college is to further education, that’s why it’s called higher education. By not going to class, one is holding themselves back from their goal. Just go to class, the professors are here to answer all the questions you have. It has been proven that many individuals find it difficult to determine if attending class should be mandatory or not. Many argue that as long as the student is doing well on the assignments and understanding the information, he/she should not be required to come to class. There are also many counter-arguments that say that one should be required to come to class no matter what. In his article “‘A’ is for Absent”, Chris Piper wants his audience to believe that attendance should not effect grades due to the fact that if a student can pass without coming to class, he/she should pass without being questions about their attendance.
I have been writing important due dates and events on them. Prior to this, I would remember information solely through memorization. The planner has helped to improve my organization skills. No longer do I complete the assignment the night before and my grades demonstrate the change. In order to make sure I have sufficient time to complete each task, I have formulated time frames.
I didn’t have time to finish my homework last night! Trust me we have all said those word at least one time in our lives. You don’t have to worry about finishing homework in one day anymore if Parras Middle School switches to block scheduling. Block Scheduling is the best thing for this school. It helps students get a better understanding for the subject they are learning, get students ready for high school, have longer classes, and have 2 days to do their homework.

You are failing a class in school. Were you not prepared for the quiz? Did your parents not help you? Or do you have an awful teacher? Whose fault is it if a student is failing a few classes in school; the parent, the teacher, or the student?
Essay One: The Dispossessed by Ursula K. LeGuin The extent that grades have on hindering the ability to learn is discussed in Ursula K. LeGuin’s The Dispossessed, in which Shevek a college professor is troubled by the importance placed on the grading system as a mark of understanding of a subject at the university he recently started teaching at. One of the first points to be made is that understanding what you were taught isn’t the point of schools anymore, it’s about memorizing the information for a test or assignment. Second, is that achieving high marks in school doesn’t always equate intelligence or lack of it . Lastly, it’s not how well one is able to memorize what they are taught, but how they’re able to take that information, process and apply it to real world problems that shows the extent of one’s true education.

Have you ever wondered how grades actually do help students throughout their career in school? Yes, many do believe grades do not help, can cause stress to students overall making them perform at a lesser level and sometimes some believe that school isn’t even needed at all in a child’s life. Grades can affect a student’s learning and constant low grades can bring them down and their mindset of just being a below average student. However, grades do help students by showing the student’s progress in school whether they are doing good or bad and grades give a goal to get a better grade by trying harder to get that grade a student wants. First, grades show progress to everyone besides just the student.

Notably, the most important step one can take in achieving good grades at the end of the school year is preparation. Planning ahead sets one up for future success. Most students that do well in school have busy lives, so one cannot just fully rely on memory to get everything done. I personally like to use an online planner where I write down all of my tasks and due dates to assure everything gets done on time. Some people prefer going old-school and use a physical planner, but an online one allows you to set reminders so that you need to worry even less about forgetting something.
