What qualities define a good supervisor? Growing up, I knew that when I start working I would have someone as a supervisor. But, since the Navy was my first job, I didn 't have any idea what qualities would constitute a good supervisor nor what I was supposed to expect of my supervisors. That is why I feel really lucky to have had Warrant Officer Ayekof as my supervisor starting at the beginning of my career in the Navy. I was able to learn a lot from having him as my supervisor. Ayekof was able to become my role model by teaching what it means to be a good supervisor, by contributing to my growth as a sailor and by showing me that there is a lot I can gain from having a good supervisor. When Warrant Officer Ayekof became my supervisor, it was during the time period of 2009-2012 while I was serving on board the Amphibious Assault Ship USS Essex (LHD-2). At the time of our introduction, he was only at an enlisted rank of Electrician’s Mate first class petty officer. That is why I 'm grateful that he became my supervisor at the start of my career because he was able to impart on me the knowledge that I need to be successful in my job. By motivating me to strive for higher goals and ensuring that I do not lose sight of my goals, he also was able to ensure that I would grow as a person. Having his as my supervisor had taught me a lot of things. But the most important lesson that I learned from all of this is that having a good supervisor can have a big influence in the decision subordinate makes. The 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) (TSC) promoted one of its own today. It was a true honor to be a part of Athena Oliver’s promotion from chief warrant officer three (CW3) to the rank of CW4. The Army has a unique esprit de corps, as we work, train, and fight beside each other in the tireless effort to protect the American people and preserve our way of life. Through war and peace, the Army is a professional organization—a Family. Warrant officers are highly skilled, single-track specialty officers, the ranks CW2 through CW5, are commissioned by the President of the United States and take the same oath as regular commissioned officers (O 1 to O 10).
From the lesson of training, I also realized the weight that officers hold when it comes to building trust, motivating, and pushing their soldiers. They are going to expect the utmost level of skill as well as professionalism that you must provide as an officer. In return, it is your right to expect the same level of excellence from your soldiers, being there to push them above the standard and holding them to being experts and professionals. This is a trait that no matter how skilled you or your soldiers may be, there will always be room for constant improvement and
Lastly, as a Warrant Officer I am expected to be the subject matter expert in my field. With no knowledge of my personality or past, Soldiers will expect me to have a high amount of knowledge on my particular field; therefore, I will need to ensure their trust in my knowledge is not wasted. The new found responsibilities that await me offer up challenging new challenges. I have always been a firm believer in the value of hard work.
What I have learned from experience and how it impacted me First and foremost, being in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years I have learned a lot from experience. I learned just like in the military, in my civilian job now I am always on duty.
1. My philosophy of leadership is about collaboration and teamwork. Respecting and treating everyone the same, is key to supporting a good team atmosphere. I believe when a leader puts effort and care into assisting others, then their peers and followers will naturally want to support them. It is also important for a leader to recognize, that advocacy must never become so important that the critical elements of leadership are neglected (e.g. policy enforcement, command support, etc...).
I have been a supervisor for almost five years and luckily had good mentors, like Michael Scott, to help me along the way. Each one of the three supervisory techniques are important and a most have for any supervisor at any company. Being an outstanding teacher goes beyond acquiring the competence and knowledge to deliver rigorous academic instruction to a diverse group of students. Outstanding teachers possess a multitude of qualities making them unique and unforgettable to the children they serve. I believe that outstanding teachers are passionate, inspired, creative, compassionate, patient and understanding.
The transition from enlisted into the ranks of officer is not a situation that anyone should take lightly. With greater rank comes greater responsibility, I emphatically understand the prestige and responsibility that comes with this transition. In this essay, I will answer three questions. What qualities does a peer mentor possess to be successful in the position? A peer mentor should be empathetic, sincere, trustworthy, and ambitious. ULV consists of several diverse students, so it is necessary for a peer mentor to be able to understand the various challenges each of their mentees either face or could potentially face. I assume that the mentees are to look up to their mentors and for that reason, a mentor should be sincere and trustworthy.
When being a supervisor, you have a lot of responsibilities that you need to take on every day with the people who work for you. It is important that the supervisor always oversees the jobs/activities that are being performed and making decisions on what to do. When it comes to everything with being a supervisor, there are ten reasons the supervisor hat fits me just fine. The first one is having good behavior, which means that you need to be approachable in every situation. You want to be positive and make sure that people in your team feel that they can come to you.

I consider myself a leader, i believe this because i am the type of person that feels like if i am not the one to do it then it will not be done the right way. Whenever i would work in groups i would designate myself to be the one to do the harder assignment, because i only trusted that would take it serious, not anyone else. Also, whenever i do anything that involves a team, i like to take control, because i feel like i am the best one to work under pressure or i can choose the best solution for any situation.

A mentor often has two primary functions,the career-related function which enhance the mentee’s professional performance and development as a coach and the psychosocial function which establishes the mentor as a role model and support system for the mentee.
