Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, is a dark play full of witchcraft and foreshadowing. Lady Macbeth showed scheming qualities throughout the play which had a lot of influence on her husband, Macbeth. Because of her controlling personality, Macbeth was scared to disappoint her. She was the one who positioned the idea of Duncan’s murder into her husband’s mind where he was succumbed by her supremacies and made the ultimate mistake. It was also her idea to place the blame of Duncan’s death on the soldiers. The most prominent example, in my opinion, was that she said she could not get the blood off of her hands. In my opinion Lady Macbeth is more responsible for King Duncan’s murder, and Macbeth’s treason, than Macbeth himself. Upon hearing the prophecy of the witches, …show more content…

She also starts to sleepwalk and sleep talk and it worries her gentlewoman and the doctor who said that this is a matter of guilt. In act 5 scene 1 page. 175 the doctor says “she needs a priest more than she needs a doctor.” She was so paranoid over the ordeal that she eventually killed herself. Even though she died before Macbeth, she still had an influence on what he did. Eventually, it leads to his death and treason. In conclusion, Lady Macbeth is more responsible for King Duncan’s murder, and Macbeth’s treason, than Macbeth himself. She placed the idea in his mind and created this path that he couldn’t return from. It was her idea to put the blame on the soldiers, and she said that she couldn’t wash the blood off of her hands no matter what she did. One is not innocent just because they did not commit the
She’s more of the brains behind the plan to kill King Duncan rather than the actual murderer. In Act 1: Scene 5, she receives the letter from Macbeth and she says “Yet I do fear thy nature; It is too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness”, she knows that he will end up not wanting to go through with their plan. Although he could have said no she still pushed him to proceed. Maybe if Macbeth would’ve put his foot down instead of cowering down and doing whatever Lady Macbeth said, he wouldn’t be in the predicament of having to kill his friends that he is in now. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are much like Adam and Eve.
Who’s to Blame? (An analysis of who is to blame for the downfall of Macbeth in the play Macbeth) Macbeth, is a play written by the famous William Shakespeare. The story focuses on this character named Macbeth. It is considered a tragedy in the multitude of plays that have been written. Macbeth in conclusion of the play is labeled as a tyrant and very decisively, insane.
The couple both played their parts in this situation. So was Lady Macbeth more responsible for killing Duncan, or was Macbeth more responsible? In this scenario, Lady Macbeth was more responsible. Many would assume Macbeth was more responsible because he was the one who killed Duncan. Lady Macbeth, however, was the first to suggest that killing Duncan was the only way Macbeth could ascend to the throne.
The tragic play Macbeth written by Shakespeare demonstrates two characters who love each other but whose decisions make them grow apart in ways they could not imagine. Macbeth is a smart man who is overpowered by his wife lady Macbeth. She controls him and influences most of his decisions. Macbeth has always wanted to be king, but doesn't know how to get there. Lady Macbeth gives him the plan to murder Duncan,in a highly-charged emotional speech.
Lady Macbeth then assumed her role. As soon as she read his letter, she was determined that she would do anything she could to make Macbeth a king. Even though both of them were ambitious, on this occasion she behaved worse than Macbeth since she tried to convince him to murder Duncan. She would gladly kill
Macbeth is one of William Shakespeare’s iconic tragedies, a story where no one truly wins. Although the rise and fall of a tyrannical ruler who massacred to achieve his rank is disastrous enough, the true tragedy is the story of Lady Macbeth. A strong woman forced into a pit of self-loathing by a misogynistic society, who then is mercilessly blamed for the actions of her husband, who hid his cruelty behind cowardice. A woman who was so desperate for relief from her own inner agony, that she was blinded to Macbeth’s clever rouse. A rouse no one else ever saw through, yet Lady Macbeth bears the brunt of the blame.
As a woman, she is seen as weak and dependent. However, Lady Macbeth is actually the stronger willed character. She, while not the dominating motivation for Macbeth’s wrongdoings, corrupts him and convinces him that he is capable of doing these evil things. Lady Macbeth’s influence on Macbeth comes from her own selfishness. She wants to be queen above all else, which drives her to commit murder.
In William Shakespeare's “Macbeth”, Lady Macbeth is responsible for King Duncan's death. Although other characters contributed to the death of king Duncan, such as Macbeth and the witches, Lady Macbeth is the most influential. After reading the letters Lady Macbeth believes the only way for Macbeth to get the crown is to kill Duncan. The three witches play an important role in the king's death, are not as responsible as Lady Macbeth, the witches never told Macbeth that he must kill the king in order for the prophecies to come trueLady Macbeth believes the king must die, from as soon as she learns of the witches prophecies.
The play, Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragedy which portrays the major downfall of a tragic hero. Although some may argue otherwise, Macbeth was the most responsible for his own downfall. As a result of being over ambitious, and his unwariness, Macbeth was most responsible for his own tragedy. The play Macbeth begins with three witches, who give several prophecies to Macbeth and Banquo.
Lady Macbeth was the blame for the murders, and the first reason is because she called evil upon herself. In the play she called evil upon herself when the text states, “Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe topful Of direst cruelty! Make thick my blood; stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between the effect and it! Come to my woman's breasts, and take my milk for gall.” This shows she was to blame for the murders because she basically was saying that she wants to turned into a cold blooded killer.
Lady Macbeth plans to invite king Duncan over for dinner, but really she is convincing Macbeth to murder him. She influences him to kill Duncan because he is the only one standing in the way of Macbeth becoming king. Lady Macbeth plans the killing but convinces Macbeth to do the dirty deed. Lastly, Lady Macbeth is one of the causes of Macbeth’s failure because she repeatedly questions Macbeth’s manhood until she persuades him to make a bad choice. “When you durst do it then you were a man” (1.7.53-58).
In the play of Macbeth, there are some characters that could be responsible for Duncan’s death. I personally think Lady Macbeth is the cause of Duncan's murder. She is the most ambitious to kill the king in the beginning of the play, pressuring Macbeth. Lady Macbeth was persuasive of driving Macbeth to commit the murder. She manipulates him to go through with the murder even though he was very doubtful about it.
Macbeth is More Responsible In Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth” Macbeth is seen to be as the one responsible for King Duncan’s murder, as Macbeth’s hands were the ones that actually killed King Duncan. However, while Macbeth may be thought of as ultimately responsible for his actions, but there are other influences that actually show on a closer inspection of the text, the three main influences to his decision are Lady Macbeth, himself, and the witches. This is (in my opinion) convincing evidence that Macbeth is completely responsible for the murder of King Duncan.
Lady Macbeth, cruel wife of Macbeth, assisted in the murder of King Duncan and his servants. She is a violently ambitious and manipulative woman, so much so that she thought up and planned the idea to kill King Duncan and convinced Macbeth to kill Duncan and his servants so that he could take Duncan’s place on the throne. Macbeth carried out with the deed, while the feeling of guilt invaded his mind almost compromising the plan, when Lady Macbeth stepped in and completed the plan mercilessly. As she finished the deed that Macbeth couldn’t carry out, (putting the daggers back with the servants), she compliments herself for being so brave and mentally stronger than some men.
When he was deciding whether he should kill Duncan, he didn’t make a decision easily; however, Lady Macbeth pushed his back by calling him a “coward.” (VII.1.45)He might not have murdered the King Duncan without her influence on him. Lady Macbeth was probably the most ambitious character in the play. When she convinces Macbeth, she says “To be the same in thine own act and valour As thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that Which thou esteem'st the ornament of life, And live a coward in thine own esteem, Letting 'I dare not' wait upon 'I would,' Like the poor cat i' the adage?”(VII.1.40-45)This quote shows that she was very good at enkindling Macbeth’s ambition.
