When the Roman Republic reached its peak, it soon started declining. There were many different political, economic, and social problems that developed when Rome surmounted more and more people. All these problems led to a civil war that changed Rome. This civil war transformed Rome from a republic to an empire. There were five main difficulties that Rome faced, and that led to the transformation of Rome. First, the amount of casualties in numerous wars, such as the Punic Wars in which 300,000 were estimated to have died, negatively impacted the number of Roman farmers. The farmers were known as the backbone of Rome at the time. Land reforms called latifundias started developing. These estates would buy out small farms and turn the free workers into slaves. Growth changed the ideal of the republic and new problems surfaced within Rome itself. Increase power in the Senate which led to a less democratic society and increase military power for the Greeks as well as civil wars between Rome and the provinces were some of the political changes that were prompted by Roman expansion. Socio-economical changes like high taxes due to the wars and movement towards cities, increase unemployment, and income disparity caused by the dispute between patricians and the plebeian were promoted by Roman expansion.
The Roman empire was a prosperous empire that flourished between the years 27 BC - 476 AD. However, there were many internal and external factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire. He increased how many rights the common allied citizen had. He also granted full citizenship to all of the teachers and doctors in Rome that did not already have it. Although it can appear as if Caesar wanted to be King, this was not the case. The reason he passed these laws was to grow Rome. Growing Rome would not only grow the amount of people in the Roman army it would also help the Roman economy because when there are more people buying items, there are more people selling the items, thus adding jobs to Rome, thus lowering the unemployment rate.

For starters, he is the reason the Roman Republic fell and the Roman Empire rose. Despite the rise of the empire was a relatively good geographical outcome, the fact that it was governed by a dictatorship, created a few problems. One being that most Romans were not in favor of a monarchical life. But, when he came into power the first thing that he did was make extreme cutbacks on the Senate.
