I studied about the dome that Filippo Brunelleschi built for a cathedral in Florence. The dome that he built for the cathedral had to span 150 feet across and was about 10 stories tall. This was built at the beginning of the Renaissance, so the early 1400’s. For the technology that was available at the time, it should have been impossible for him to be able to build what he built. Not only was the dome huge, but it also started over 100 feet above the ground on walls already built. Brunelleschi was a genius who had an inquisitive mind.
