He met his end on May 7, 1896, when he was hanged for the Pitezel murder in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2017, the History Channel aired an eight-part series, American Ripper, in which Holmes's great-great-grandson, Jeff Mudgett, explored the theory of whether his forebear was actually Jack the Ripper. The series also investigated the rumor that Holmes had somehow escaped his execution, concluding with a visit to his gravesite to exhume his remains. Videos H.H. Holmes - The World's Fair H.H. As we all know 27 year old James Eagan Holmes opened fire in a crowded movie theater, Century 16, on July 20,2012. Holmes had over 700 rounds of ammunition with him, killing 12 and injuring 70. The 1893 world's fair was an amazing experience. New inventions and extraordinary exhibits were scattered throughout a gleaming white city of newly constructed buildings, including the largest ever built at the time. Millions came from around America and the world to see this confluence of civilization in Chicago, but some never made it home. Before, during, and after the Fair, a serial killer named H. H. Holmes preyed on single women, killing possibly as many as 200 people total, although that estimate may be unrealistically high. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson tells the story of the Fair and of the trajectory of Holmes’s killings.

The serial killer I chose is Jeffrey Dahmer. I decided to pick Dahmer because he intrigued me. Jeffrey Dahmer was a very disturbed person, he tortured animals, was a necrophiliac, a sex offender, and overall a serial killer. Dahmer as a child was very distant and didn’t have many friends. According to Biography.com he had a double hernia that had to be taken out at the age of 6, after the surgery he seemed different and was effected by that and the birth of his younger brother.
Jeffrey Dahmer As one of the most notorious serial killers in US history, Jeffrey Dahmer was a very sick and delusional individual who lived out his fantasies on his prey. Before he went on trial, he had pleaded guilty but insane. (I carried it 1). Dahmer had told police that he wanted a sex slave which was completely compliant, and zombie-like so they could not leave him.

Holmes had many accomplices but one was Benjamin Pitezel (Blanco). Holmes and Pitezel traveled all around committing these insurance scams. One day they got put in jail and that is where Holmes met Hedgepath. He promised to let Hedgepath in on the scam but Holmes did give him his share so Hedgepath gave Holmes' name to the authorities. ("H. H. Holmes")
From early on he would commit petty crimes of fraud and would scam insurance companies. (One thing I found while reading was that it seemed he would always talk people into making a life insurance plan before murdering them to collect the money.) He later moved to Chicago and scammed a woman, whose husband was malignant and dying soon, to sell her the pharmacy; after the deal had been made she ‘mysteriously’ disappeared. Holmes would soon marry many different women and lie about relationships left and right- I guess he did not really have to worry about crazy ex-girlfriends- and they always seemed to move away ‘unexpectedly’ and were then never heard from again.
