Behind the Beautiful Forevers, written by Katherine Boo, is about residents of Annawadi, a slum in Mumbai, India. These slums of Mumbai force kids to grow up faster than anywhere else on the planet. Forcing kids to work as soon as they can walk, and press them into tough situations. The book details the lives of the female slumlord, Asha, and her daughter Manju. Asha is part of the corrupt system of government, and wants her daughter to be just like her when she grows up.
Life is very difficult, and certain people respond to trouble differently. An example of this takes place in the book Trouble by Gary D. Schmidt. In Trouble both Henry and Chay are in difficult situations. Henry’s brother has died and Henry and his family are in a difficult time. Chay is Cambodian and he starts to date an American girl.
The story, “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi,” by Rudyard Kipling, is about a story focusing on the love of family and friends, a brave and courageous mongoose, and a enemy, a sneaky woman cobra that fights to the death with Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Rikki and the female cobra known as Nagaina both have a similarity of strong, smart character traits who dedicate their lives to protecting their families. First of all, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi has so many human like character traits such as brave and smart. For example, in (Kipling paragraph 34). ” Rikki-Tikki-Tavi saved our lives and Teddy's life, she said to her husband. In the foreword of the novel, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, there is a quote that reads: “But it’s so much more than a book about depression. It’s about the promise of hope, strength, and the desire to live” (Cohn 1). This quote describes the feeling of the whole novel, which is about a kid named Craig Gilner who is battling depression, but also figuring out who he desires to be. Consequently, you’ll soon detect that Craig has an unexplainable strength that he doesn’t think he has till later through his journeys through a psychiatric hospital. In this journal I will be evaluating the person that is Craig Gilner, visualizing the psychiatric hospital he sojourns in, and predicting what choice he will compose when it comes to his life.
Initial Assessment Garnet from the novel Keeper N’ Me seems like a rather resourceful individual that has relied mainly on himself to navigate through life ever since he aged out of the foster care system. The way in which he chose to survive during this time may have been influenced by the pervasively negative stereotypes against Indigenous people, his detachment from his community, family, and heritage, as well as the observed desire to fit in or belong. Garnet’s primary presenting clinical issues seem to be a diminished sense of self and self-esteem. Through vibrant graphics and intricate plots, Raina Telgemeier encaptures all of this in her graphic novel, Drama. Drama is filled with many ups and downs, but the protagonist, Callie, overcomes numerous challenges with heroism and the help of her friends. From her middle school musical to boy trouble, Callie realizes that all drama isn’t that bad. Raina Telgemeier’s Drama should be included in the Little Free Library due to its heroic lessons, Telgemeier’s confidence boldness in attempting to socially broaden the minds of young readers, and its established popularity.
Rikki-tikki-tavi is a great character for the story Rikki-tikki-tavi. This story was written by Rudyard Kipling. Rikki-tikki ends up in an English family’s house and is about to face many snakes in the garden. This is courageous, very quick, and curious. Rikki-tikki is tremendously courageous in this story.

According to the play’s story, Troy Maxson is the main character of the play. He is a bit of a complicated character. He is a very stubborn, self-centered person who lives in his own world. He created his own illusions and lived in them. Troy’s actions throughout the play are influenced by his way of thinking, broken child hood, and past mistakes.
Ilsa Hermann is a diminutive soul, with a sadding past. Married to the Mayor of town, Ilsa lives in a large mansion down the richer street of Munich.
