In my opinion, social media has re-conceptualized the global marketplace. It undoubtedly has influenced how people communicate with friends and family, stay up to date on the news and current events and the way companies and their respective brands convey their message to the masses. The advantage of media platforms such as Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to name a few, is that they provide another medium for organizations which target and then solicit their audiences more efficiently and effectively. This is supported by the reading, “By using global advertising agencies, companies are able to take advantage of economies of scale and other efficiencies” (Peter & Donnelly Jr, 2013, Pg. 213). When advertising with social media, organizations have the ability to not only establish new customers, but to expand the awareness of their particular brand across the globe. Another benefit of media platforms, is that it gives the business the opportunity …show more content…
However, despite the many benefits encompassing the various social media platforms, they are not without its faults and or concerns. One such concern, is that with social media advertising, the business is potentially put at risk of losing control over their entire online content involving their products and services. If there is an instance where poor customer service and our negative product reviews comes into play, it has the propensity to disseminate rather quickly via the internet or other media platforms. This type of negative publicity has the potential to damage the reputation of an organization, before given a chance to quite possibly rectify the situation. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that organizations, as well as the global economy benefit immensely from the successful and effective use of various media
As well as this social media can offer further benefits to the modern business as with regular posts a company can raise awareness in their brand, drive more traffic to their sites and also interact with the customers on a much more personal
The media can let people express themselves in many different ways. Small businesses, personal accounts, and corporations benefit from social media in many different aspects, “ Reach your customers better, create online networks, sell and promote your products and services. You can also use social media for advertising, promotional giveaways, and mobile applications” (Business Gov). Social media provides businesses with a valuable tool to connect with customers, promote their products and services, and build brand loyalty. By using social media strategically and intentionally, businesses can achieve a range of business goals and grow their customer base.
When social media first was created amongst the internet big companies like Pepsi, Taco bell or IBM never had social media accounts. It was not until the improvement amongst the internet within smart phones that made people become “internet streaming connoisseurs”. Resulting in people always having their face glued to their smartphone screens using social media apps, surfing the web or just streaming videos. Eventually once big companies created social media accounts to promote their material and keep tabs on their consumer’s interest within their brands the advantage of social media emerges.

Advertising has taken many forms throughout history, from word of mouth to newspapers, and to billboards, but something new has completely changed business advertising: social media. Social media platforms allow people or groups to share comments, pictures, videos, and thoughts instantly across the globe. Social media has taken the world by storm over the past 20 years and has become part of daily life for over 4.5 billion people (Dean, 2021). With social media being such a powerful tool to connect to people, businesses are changing their advertising tactics to advertise through social media. Many companies and businesses that are advertising through social media are large companies that have designated advertisements on social media platforms like Youtube, FaceBook, and Instagram.
Also the global aspect that social media offers will replace the conventional way products are advertised. Social media is a great source for companies to use to get a large amount of advertisement to the public in the shortest amount of time. Most organizations have invested in social media departments to stay current on this growing technology. They have also decreased funds to other departments like print and television because of the cost of marketing. The ability for the public to share content instantly to others is the future of marketing.
Researches of the past years shows- In Europe and America over 80% of teens and young adults are using social media of different types. Soft drink giant Coca-Cola is already integrating Facebook as a part of their marketing plans with 20 million of Facebook fans. Those kinds of changes indicate to significance of social media marketing for present world.
Buildings have a large impact on their surrounding context but also on the larger scale which includes the resources and energy used to produce these buildings. All buildings create harmful emissions, where 18% of these are created indirectly by the materials (Araji & Shakour, 2013). Sustainable design in the building industry is important due to the fact that 50% of the material which is taken from the earth is used within the building industry and from this over 50% is waste production. This large amount of material usage leads to the use of more energy consumption (Anink, et al., 1996).
There have been few advancements in the history of seafaring that have changed the limits of our capabilities more than nuclear propulsion. Nuclear power has revolutionized maritime warfare in much the same way as sail power or steam power had in the past. Nuclear powered vessels use fission to produce electricity and they are extremely efficient compared to vessels that use fossil fuels. With the introduction of nuclear powered vessels, for the first time in history, the limits on how long a vessel could stay away from port shifted to the human occupants rather than the vessel’s need to refuel (Kamei, 2013).
Research shows that consumer access to social media has reduced the effectiveness of conventional marketing efforts such as television and print media advertisements, which caused declining response rates and significantly affected the marketing strategies of organisations. (Gensler et al., 2013; Tsimonis, G. and Dimitriadis, S., 2013) The second contribution to the attractivess of social media are the technological advancements that have influenced the development of new information technology infrastructures, tools and the increasing size of the online population. Furtermore has the use of traditional media declined as people, especially young individuals, have moved online. This demographic shift has strongly pushed organisations to participate on social media (Tsimonis, G. and Dimitriadis, S., 2013).
How much do you spend on electricity a year? Do you know how harmful your power usage is for the environment? Installing solar panels are the best improvement a homeowner can take in their home despite their high initial cost and perceived unsightliness. Any home with a south facing should have solar panels installed. Solar panels are environmentally friendly, renewable energy source, many financial benefits.
But each coin has two sides, same is in the case of social media. It has a bright as well as a dark side. On bright side, businesses can use social network as marketing spot as it is cheap and easily available and they can promote their products globally (Salcido, 2105). With help of social media people can support various campaigns regarding social issues and be the part of global community (Ta, 2014). Furthermore, friends separated by long distances can keep in touch by sharing images on sites like Facebook and Instagram.
Since the creation of Six Degrees, the first recognizable social media platform back in 1997, the usage of the social media platforms has grown in size to the point where 37% of population uses them worldwide (We Are Social, 2017). This unceasing mass socialization profoundly influences society today, thus, playing a significant role in shaping its life, therefore, three popular social media platforms are selected to analyze how they affected people intensely within a certain period of time. Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram have affected our society within the past five years in both positive and negative aspects: Facebook, despite its popularity with worldwide online communication, is challenged with fraudulent security and cyber-bullying;
It is no secret that social media has become extremely popular in connecting people with friends and family, turning multiple web platforms into a regular form of communication for many. In recent years, it has also become a valuable tool for businesses to market their products to consumers and offer a way to connect and engage with them. Through relevant content posts and frequent interaction on various social media platforms, businesses receive important feedback and data that can be used to help expand the brand and better understand the needs and wants of consumers (Roncha & Radclyffe-Thomas, 2016). To build a strong social media marketing plan, organizations must create and implement strategies that support the overall goals of the
We realize, and so do marketing that with social media today, we interact in an environment in which customers will exchange about what we do and share it globally. Social is not a choice, it is a must. Character
