Explain What Freedom Means To Me

The freedom of religion means in this website, “Congress can’t promote one religion over one anothers and can’t restrict an individual's religious practice.” This meaning that no one can change what your religion is. Next, freedom of speech that is stated, “The right to freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves without interference or constraint by the government.” This meaning that you can speak your mind and no one can say anything to stop you. Then, there is freedom of press.

I. Introduction The United States is founded on the concept of Liberty. As expressed in the Constitution, all United States citizens are entitled to the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These values have been endlessly challenged throughout history in an attempt to determine where freedom should end and where government regulation might begin.

Janurary 6 1941, Franklin D Rososevelt gave his historic State of the Union Address. It was titiled, Four Freedoms. His speech was centered on what he believed to be four fundamental freedoms that every nation should enjoy: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. Out of his four essential human freedoms my attention goes to freedom from want. FDR described freedom from want as an, “economic understanding which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitant anywhere in the world.”

The Bill of Rights is one of the most important documents in US history. ¶3. The Bill of Rights can be divided into 3 categories. ¶4. The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of individuals ¶5.

The foundation of the United States is built on three unelidable rights. Those rights include the right to life, the right to liberty, and the right to pursue happiness. Arguably the most important right given to Americans is the right to liberty, which is the state of being free of oppression. In an effort to protect this right, and many other important freedoms enjoyed by the citizens of the United States, the founding fathers set up a legislature in which all citizens of the nation received representation that was fair and equal. The United States Congress features a bicameral system which included the House of Representatives and the United States Senate.

These three rights are known as the unalienable rights. The significance behind having the right to life, is to feel like your life matters and you can breathe and function in our country without worrying about getting killed by another person. Having liberty and the pursuit of happiness is living free from restrictions of society and having the freedom to travel the journey to gain happiness and satisfaction. “I believe that within every soul lies the ability to reach for its own good... Another freedom important to me is being to enjoy myself without any fear of the government. In America you can do what you want as long as it is legal and can 't be punished by the government without a fair trial if you are accused of a crime.

Liberty is being free of restrictions that is set on you for certain beliefs, groups. For example, in California if a frog dies during a jumping contest you can not eat it. That is a restriction has to be payed to enforce. Although it might have seemed reasonable at the time to keep competitors from other frogs in the contest , it now it can give you a chuckle when you read it.

Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.

All five freedoms are very important, but I believe the freedom of speech is the most important. Freedom of speech allows us to speak our mind. It`s the very foundation on what our government runs on. It`s also not healthy to keep our emotions bottled up inside.
