“I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something,” (Graham, Crash 2004). Is part of the quote said in the opening scene to the movie Crash released in 2004. The movie deals with many social topics that were big at that moment in time and still are thirteen years later in 2017. Three of the main topics are racism, prejudice, and stereotypes. Racism has been seen throughout years and is still being seen today in 2017. It is when one thinks that his or her race is higher up or superior then someone else’s and attacks that other race. Whether it be verbally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, or mentally. The racism in the movie is quite clearly seen. One example is when the two white officers pull the car over with the black couple inside of it. Even though both officers know this is not the car they were looking for they still go out and question them. At one point one white officer asks the black couple to step out of the car. Where the officer pats them down but as he is doing so to the wife, he sexually assaults her by putting his hands on her private area. The black husband, even though he is a well-known film producer, can do nothing but watch his wife be abused in front of him. He is black and the officer is white, if he reacts the situation could go south rapidly. He could be put in jail for “assaulting a police officer” because the officer could twist what happened around to his favor. This scene is a clear show of
