The film, White Like Me is based on the works of Tim Wise, an American anti-racism activist and writer. The documentary explores racism in the United States through the concepts of white privileged and racial identity by Wise’s own experiences. He starts off by saying that the United States has overcome a lot of issues involving race from slavery to electing an African-American as president, but he disproves that theory by stating that racial inequality and racial bias still exists. It is a story about how three women team up to form an alliance and secretively work on a writing project that would be shunned otherwise. The film portrayed the time when segregation existed between the whites and the blacks to be specific in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi. In the article, “A Million Dollar Exit From the Anarchic Slum-World: Slumdog Millionaire’s Hollow Idioms of Social Justice”, Mitu Sengupta responds to how the slums and its citizens are presented in the film Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle. Sengupta describes the slums as run-down and then goes on to specifically address the poverty that exists in India. When writing about the portrayal of the slums, Sengupta states, “Slumdog depicts the ‘slum’ as a feral wasteland, a place of evil and decay that is devoid of order, productivity and compassion”(599). Sengupta uses imagery to illustrate to viewers the unsanitary conditions that the people of Mumbai experience on a daily basis.

At the same time, Jamal is helping Forrester to face his internal fighting while Forrester helps Jamal to become an excellent writer. Here we witness an immigrant and his family trying to start a new life in a new country but are being neglected from becoming a part of the society because of these stereotypes. In the film, Get Out, written and directed by Jordan Peele, Peele claims that acts of casual racism are aimed at ethnic minorities. Peele begins to build his credibility by addressing issues of casual racism in the text, targeting the White liberals as his audience, using constraints to encourage empathy for his characters, and by being influenced to create Get Out from the controversial issue of America being a “post-racial” society. Peele, a comedy writer, actor, and ethnic minority, has been praised for his portrayal on his hit comedy show Key And Peele. Despite all the laughs during Key And Peele for over a decade, Peele had a more vital message to deliver; Get Out is a portrayal of Peele’s perspective on casual racism.

Nowadays society thinks that everyone is being equal by the way they treat each other. They think that racism is no longer around, and that people are getting better at it. Yes, Racism has improved, however, there are many different types of racism that are going on till this day. Also, there is a high amount of racism in the USA, that has been claimed to not exist anymore. There are many ways it is shown, however both ways are similar in each country.

The film, Crash, emphasizes the differences of cultures and classes. It focuses on the reality that we are all individuals and that adaptation of the human condition is hopeless. That the need to compete and the desire to win are more important than the justification for human decency. The tension of social and racial tension throughout this film I believe widens the chasm of discussion. I believe this because this film can be interpreted differently by individuals.
