According to the lengthy personality test that I took, I am classified as having a protagonist personality. I was very intrigued to find out that only two percent of the world's population had the same personality type as me. Eventually, when we got to sharing our results as a class, about a quarter of them were protagonists as well. That special little feeling that I had due to being in the “two percent” instantly diminished. I’ve always been very skeptical about personality tests, horoscopes, etc., because often times they’re just common generalities that the individual morphs to their own liking. The difference between this personality test and the ones I used to take on Facebook during middle school was that this one went extremely in depth …show more content…
Often times protagonists become too concerned with helping others and they find themselves too stretched out. The most prominent example of this in my life is helping multiple friends transform their bodies and their lives at the gym. At the beginning of high school I was 5’10” and about 115 lbs. I was extremely skinny and got made fun of almost every single day. I eventually decided that enough was enough and I began going to the gym as much as I could. Throughout this journey I brought many friends along the way. My friends would see that I was improving and transforming my body and they were inspired to do so as well. My workouts that normally lasted an hour to an hour and a half went up to three or four hours because I would at times have three or four other friends with me that wanted to learn from me. Spending so much time at the gym helping others affected other parts of my life dramatically. I was barely sleeping because all of my homework was being pushed back 2-3 hours from when I would normally do it. While it was extremely hard to cope with at the time, it was more than worth it from today’s perspective. To this day all of the friends that I helped are thanking me and saying that if it wasn’t for me motivating them and pushing them to do better that they would never have been able to do it. My answer back to them is always simple, “I didn’t lift those weights homie, you did.” Helping them has made me discover a passion of mine and helped me set a personal goal of one day opening up my own fitness

I started running up and down the massive hill that I have for a backyard, and I also bought a rope agility ladder to improve my footwork. I would do about 100 push ups and sit ups a night, and yes at the time I thought
Furthermore, they’ve committed their lives to the gym. Consequently, their dedication paid off. I have always loved sports. I try my very best to work hard at them. The hard work that I have put in and the lessons I have learned, have helped shape who I am today.
Every hero archetype has to experience the journey. James Campbell, a scholar who studied mythology across the world defines archetypes as people such as a mother figure, a father figure, a hero, a maiden,or a trickster. A hero is a person who has curiosity, humility, and is courageous. In addition, a hero goes out of their way to reach their goal, even if that means putting their life on the line for others or for a set accomplishment. Furthermore, the hero archetype must experience the three stages of the Hero’s Journey which includes The Departure, The Initiation, and The Return.

I do believe that every obstacle or disadvantage can turn into something good. Whatever obstacle that is thrown at us we always have to find a way to solve it out, they always may seem like the impossible but everything is fixable. So with that being said, yes every obstacle or disadvantage can turn into something better. Some people say that obstacles like that or having disadvantages can’t turn into something good. They say it makes people even fear more because they are scared and don’t think they have a way out of it.
Elia Kazan’s award-winning film On the Waterfront and Arthur Miller’s tragic play The Crucible both explore the impact of fear on both individuals and communities and the consequences that may arise due to the chaos caused by fear. Both texts contain centres of power which instil fear in the community and ultimately result in the untimely demise of numerous characters. Additionally, both texts depict the different acts of self-preservation an individual may exhibit when confronted by fear-induced hardships. Furthermore, despite main characters from both texts – John Proctor and Terry Malloy- illustrating acts of heroism in their final scenes, only Malloy’s attempt for redemption is seen to result in a resolution to the corruption caused by

“The Hero’s Journey” is term for a narrative style that was identified by scholar Joseph Campbell. The narrative pattern would depict a character’s heroic journey, and categorize the character’s experiences into three large sections: departure, which contained the hero’s call to adventure, fulfillment, which consisted of the hero’s initiation, trials, and transformation, and finally the return. The novel The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan investigates the relationship and actions of four Chinese women and their daughters. The character Lindo Jong’s youth in China exemplifies the three part heroic journey in how she leaves the familiar aspects in her life, faces trials in the home of her betrothed, ..... Departure:

A hero exhibits many qualities. Responsibility, bravery, and loyalty are just a few on many qualities that can be found in heroes. But to me, some of the most important qualities a hero needs are recognizing one's flaws and weaknesses, listening to others, and selflessness.
