According to the lengthy personality test that I took, I am classified as having a protagonist personality. I was very intrigued to find out that only two percent of the world's population had the same personality type as me. Eventually, when we got to sharing our results as a class, about a quarter of them were protagonists as well. That special little feeling that I had due to being in the “two percent” instantly diminished. I’ve always been very skeptical about personality tests, horoscopes, etc., because often times they’re just common generalities that the individual morphs to their own liking. Often times protagonists become too concerned with helping others and they find themselves too stretched out. The most prominent example of this in my life is helping multiple friends transform their bodies and their lives at the gym. At the beginning of high school I was 5’10” and about 115 lbs. I was extremely skinny and got made fun of almost every single day. I eventually decided that enough was enough and I began going to the gym as much as I could. Throughout this journey I brought many friends along the way. My friends would see that I was improving and transforming my body and they were inspired to do so as well. My workouts that normally lasted an hour to an hour and a half went up to three or four hours because I would at times have three or four other friends with me that wanted to learn from me. Spending so much time at the gym helping others affected other parts of my life dramatically. I was barely sleeping because all of my homework was being pushed back 2-3 hours from when I would normally do it. While it was extremely hard to cope with at the time, it was more than worth it from today’s perspective. To this day all of the friends that I helped are thanking me and saying that if it wasn’t for me motivating them and pushing them to do better that they would never have been able to do it. My answer back to them is always simple, “I didn’t lift those weights homie, you did.” Helping them has made me discover a passion of mine and helped me set a personal goal of one day opening up my own fitness
