I believe that overcoming my challenge of being a successful cadet while playing a division 1 sport has helped me grow and will continue help me to grow. When I graduated and commissions as a second lieutenant I believe that over coming this challenge will allow me to better lead and inspire my soldiers. Doubts cross everyone’s mind and my challenge has taught me how to overcome doubts. I will be able to help my soldiers overcome their doubts so they can continue to push on through whatever situations they are facing. I also believe that overcoming my challenge will help me pursue excellence and continue to grow. I strive to do the best I can in everything I do and that will not change when I am a second lieutenant. I will hold my soldiers
As a child of immigrant parents, my formative years in elementary and middle school were shaped by two important factors: the environment in which I lived and my background. My parents worked hard to settle into a new life in a foreign country to provide better opportunities for our family. This meant that we had to be flexible about where we lived due to relocating for jobs, and fluid about our ideas of culture. I recall the daunting nature of moving to a new city, twice, as a child. The prospect of leaving everything that was familiar to me and forming new friendships in an unfamiliar environment was a challenge.
The level of maturity I have acquired from working side by side with my fellow soldiers and protecting our great nation have prepared me to accept many difficult challenges. Completing these challenges to the best of my abilities, a trait I learned in the Army. This is just another step to achieving my goals. I am not a quitter and I will not give up. It is my conviction that when one door closes many more will opened with greater opportunities.
From the lesson of training, I also realized the weight that officers hold when it comes to building trust, motivating, and pushing their soldiers. They are going to expect the utmost level of skill as well as professionalism that you must provide as an officer. In return, it is your right to expect the same level of excellence from your soldiers, being there to push them above the standard and holding them to being experts and professionals. This is a trait that no matter how skilled you or your soldiers may be, there will always be room for constant improvement and
In life there’s many obstacles and disadvantages. No matter what, obstacles are bound to happen in our lifetime whether we like it or not. The fact that there is no escaping them, makes people stronger in the sense what they have experience. Turning obstacles into a positive perspective can help everyone feel that they will soon overcome their situation. Grief can become a huge obstacle to many people, a loss off their love one can be a great impact to their life.
I do believe that every obstacle or disadvantage can turn into something good. Whatever obstacle that is thrown at us we always have to find a way to solve it out, they always may seem like the impossible but everything is fixable. So with that being said, yes every obstacle or disadvantage can turn into something better. Some people say that obstacles like that or having disadvantages can’t turn into something good. They say it makes people even fear more because they are scared and don’t think they have a way out of it.
Lastly, as a Warrant Officer I am expected to be the subject matter expert in my field. With no knowledge of my personality or past, Soldiers will expect me to have a high amount of knowledge on my particular field; therefore, I will need to ensure their trust in my knowledge is not wasted. The new found responsibilities that await me offer up challenging new challenges. I have always been a firm believer in the value of hard work.
Furthermore, I am now inspired to help my fellow students and veterans to find a direction in their education. Every time I meet a fellow veteran, a deep connection forms. The comradery of the military, allows us to share stories of our service and the struggles to reintegrate back into society. These moments of sharing with others, has helped me and them realize that we are not alone. On the same hand, the community at Front Range has helped me to realize that I am not alone as well.
I believe that I want to be able to say that I have been able to complete a difficult task; one that I knew would be difficult, but one that I believe that I will be able to accomplish. I want to be able to say that I was capable of completing such a difficult task, and while I know if won’t be easy, I believe that with the help of my troop and my family I will be able to do it. I know that I will not be able to do this alone, but I know that I have the support of my troop and my family. Within my own troop, we have had two girls work their way through the Stars and Stripes award, and complete it.
No matter the situation or task at hand, I always give my very best effort. I believe that things are not worth doing unless one puts forth everything they have. Having the opportunity to attend one of the United States service academies is the best way for me to fulfill what I believe in. The
I am aware that there are certain challenges ahead of me and if honored with acceptance to the Air Force Academy. These are challenges that I do not take lightly and look forward to surpassing

Did you know every human body has 206 bones? Instead of having 206 bones, I have 206 ½ today. This is definitely a story I was never going to forget about, with all the pain, tears, and laughs involved. In P.E. one day in 8th grade, for our unit we played basketball.
