Imagine a world where communication is difficult, there is not a lot of entertainment, and places are hard to get to. This actually was the world in the 1900s-1910s. Technology has come a long way since the early 1900s. Our world has become more advanced and fast paced due to the advances of technology. Over the last 100 years, technology is by far the biggest change in our culture. All of the pieces needed to build an automobile have drastically improved in the last 100 years. First, gasoline engines have become more efficient and powerful, with much better quality. Tires have been improved so there are not as many flats. The reporters in the early 1900s had to be very detailed and descriptive in order for people to know what they were talking about. Today, we have televisions that broadcast all of the news stories. Many Americans sit in front of the TV every day for entertainment. Now we have everything we need right around us. The TV has a major impact on our society. Nearly every time our family eats in Cracker Barrel, we get a laugh about some of the old photographs hanging on the wall. It is hard to believe that those people had to be perfectly still for a very long time to just take one picture. In the time it has taken me to write this paragraph, my dad took a bunch of pictures of our cat. On just our phones alone, the picture quality, speed, and color were probably unimaginable 100 years ago. In addition to picture quality, perhaps the best change of all is how the photo is stored. No longer do we need film that relied on lots of dangerous chemicals to be produced, but instead we can now store thousands of pictures electronically. The 1920’s kept Americans busy with everyday tasks, but even the common people would soon come to realize the advances of modern technology that would forever change their lifestyle. Daily tasks such as washing clothes, mass communication, and even transportation would be made easier through new inventions of this time period. Many advancements were made in the areas of appliances, informational and entertainment devices, and automobiles. This new technology would improve the way of living for people and would forever change history.
During the years 1880-1920 there were many issues because of urbanization and industrialization. The industrial revolution brought many new job opportunities with low wages making companies focus on women and children. These opportunities were available but at a cost, they were paid less and they were forced to work up to ten hours. The industrial giants made labor a tough and unfair lifestyle. They wanted more riches, but they were making people suffer in order to obtain the money.
The Impact of Technological Developments in the 1920s In this day and age, we Canadians have become extremely accustomed to the technology we have surrounding us. Although it may seem normal for things like cars and cellphones to be necessities for some Canadians, a lot of these inventions were created and were just starting to shape our nation less than 100 years ago. “Every once in a while, a new technology, an old problem, and a big idea turn into innovation” this quote by Dean Kamen explains that when there is a problem we create new technology to solve this problem, and when we create new technology we have innovation. This was like the 1920’s as problem turned into innovation. The 1920’s was a time of advancement from new inventions used in and outside the home, to technology that changed everyday life which impacted the decades to come. The 1920’s was a decade of numerous advancements “that shaped the future and impacted decades to come” (Alchin).
The Roaring Twenties were full of dramatic, social, political, and economic changes ("The Roaring Twenties,1). Post World War I, the era marked the beginning of modern times with new and worthy developments. More and more people were abetted to live in the cities, most people had jobs, therefore money to spend, and they spend it by “having a good time” (McNeese,88). While the society got rid of their miseries; sciences, arts, and businesses renewed themselves by evolving. Railroads were important to the economy by the speed and time it took them to ship goods.
There are very few things in existence that can impact and help shape many parts society as television is able to do. With just the press of a button, a person can gain a front row seat to different aspects of the world such as politics, news updates, entertainment, or travel, without having to leave the comfort of their living room. Information wasn’t always this easy to attain though. Television, an everyday amenity, took decades of time and research for inventors to create. America during the 1920’s had very little in means of communication when compared to today’s media.
The Renaissance error technology had a very big impact on my life today! It was Just amazing how Renaissance error made everything so much better. The technology that had the biggest impact on my life was the printing press. The printing press made everything easier because back then in order to make the bible, they had to write it or memorize it or they had this big long heavy scrolls. Then they had the printing press that made every so much easier.

Without doubt television is the most effective medium to deliver information to large numbers of people very quickly. News in one part of the world can be seen within minutes or even seconds in any other part of the world.
