There are many things that could happen in a person’s life that could cause change. Some changes could bring joy to their lives and some could bring sadness to their lives. However, the event that changed my life was coming to America. I knew I was going to a whole new world full of dreams, success, and opportunities which was going to change everything. Moving from India to America has taught me how to respect other people, be more responsible, and be more loving towards friends and families. In fact, this experience has enabled me to adapt to any situation that I come across. It was so unexpected. I was in school and out of nowhere my parents came up to me and said, “Son! We are going to America! Our lives are about to change, your life is about to change and you are going to have a great future.” The joy I saw on their face was priceless. They were so excited that they couldn’t resist and started crying. It made me cry too. I have never seen my parents cry before, but it was a great …show more content…
When my plane landed in Detroit, Michigan, I had a weird feeling of getting lost because this was my first time being in a foreign country and I didn’t know English well. I got lost at the airport but found my way around when a lady from India let me use her phone to call my aunt. At that moment, I realized how great she was; someone who literally just helped a stranger. I was amazed. When I finally got to talk to my aunt I had a good feeling that I have someone and I’m not alone. When I got out of the airport and saw the roads and the surrounding, I was amazed by the looks of the surrounding. Everything was different; it felt like I was on another planet. Roads, buildings, and people were different. I was excited to learn about the new culture. I got seek after right after, and was sick for a week. I guess that happened because of the weather. I stay with me aunt for a week and then moved into an apartment with my
Many people are raised up by the idea that the society they live in always needs more adjustment, and other people around them are not always friendly. I am also one of those people. Since I was little, I was taught by my father not to trust anyone around, and not to pay too much effort into any kind of relationship. Even though I might not necessarily agree with him, I still followed his advice for years. However, I always ended up feeling lonely and depressed.
Moving to a new place is a scary thing to do. Most people move to a new city or state, but for Firoozah Dumas, she moved to a whole different country. From Iran to America. Before you move to a new place, you usually hear all about it, the food, the atmosphere, the people and what the place is inside and out, either from friends and family or the internet. Well, at least you try too.
Everyone has events in their lives that have significant impacts on them. These particular events are what help shape people into who they are. In my life, one of these events was when I committed to play baseball at Mississippi State University. This event has caused important changes in my baseball career, social life, and my academics. Committing to MSU was a great moment in my life and it has changed my life considerably.
America is one of the richest and safest place in the whole wide world. I was born in Egypt and came to California when I was 10 years old, I love it here. The reason I came to America was because of safety, but now that a lot of people have weapons it 's not as safe anymore. We should make a law about limiting people’s weapons and only people who actually need it shall have it.
As I talked to one of my friends on the shore of Timberwolf Lake, I had a realization that changed my life forever. Timberwolf Lake is a Young Life camp in Northern Michigan that I attended the summer after my sophomore year. One of my friends was having a hard time in life and needed someone to talk to. While talking to him and making him feel better, it also made me feel better. It was then that I realized that I can make a difference in the world by make others lives more prosperous and more enjoyable. I wanted to make the world a better place than when I came into it.
America is another name for opportunity that resides in the destiny of the people. There is nothing more competitive than the daily life of an American. Everyone has the chance to achieve their own desires and hope is what keeps them going. America thrives on commitment and that is what sets the goods and the greats apart. Anyone can work hard but there is nothing special about working hard because that is what is supposed to happen.
When I was six years old, living in Ethiopia, my dad won an American green card visa lottery among 53,000 people. Although it was exciting news, family members were discouraged because my dad could not afford the visa processing and traveling expense. However, he found a sponsor in Seattle, which allowed him to settle in America. As soon as he found a good house and a stable job, he started the process for me and my family. Multiple errors and obstacles delayed our processing for five years.

As a teenager moving to a new country with a different culture, different language, and being thousands of miles away from everyone I grew up with was not an easy change, however, that was precisely what I did in January of 2013 when I came to the United States with my father. My whole world changed since, and shaped my way of thinking. From learning English, adjusting to a new culture, experiencing my first snow and finding my way in my new country, my life has been an exciting adventure. My parents brought me to America almost 5 years ago to have a better life, and to get a better education.
After several months of anxious waiting, Government granted exit visas for four of us, and for my parents. While I quit work, Victor continued working two, sometimes three jobs. Our Aunt Ghenya, who finally at her advanced age, lived in very decent conditions, was totally confused and lost. She was 70 years old and she did not need America; watching and trusting Russian TV propaganda, she knew that America is an awful place, where people are dying on the streets. The prospect of leaving our new comfortable apartment, familiar life and moving into unknown ruined her health I am quite certain of it.
I now can cook the food here, converse with the wonderful people here and best of all, keep learning from the culture here. I have seen the ways these people, these loving open people can see someone like me in the street and accept them into their home. I see how they are willing to give anyone they see whatever they can, not because they expect something from them, but because they feel a genuine love for all of the people in this world.
As I ponder over my life, each memory seems identical to the other, and I find myself drifting through a reality of similar events that generate the same memories and emotions. Looking back further into my childhood includes memories of my homeland. I remember entering a new world at the age of five, where all of my later memories would be formed. This was when my family moved to the United States from Peru, my native country in the South. The complete change in culture and values truly impacted me when I first moved to Florida, and I reflect over the significant effect it has had on my character during the last thirteen years of my life.
Although not every move was easy, I soon started enjoying it and looked forward to learning something new about a different place. Therefore, when my father informed me that we were going to relocate to USA, I was on top of the moon. I looked forward to a new environment and new experiences. Despite all the different moves, I found my relocation to Maryland one of the hardest. I soon realized that the schooling was very different and people even talked differently.
However, I was still full of happiness because I could not wait to see my parents again after so many
In one person’s life, there can be many changes. Some of them are small and do not have a very big effect on your life. However, other events are very important and can completely change a person’s life, such as moving to a new country, joining the military, getting married, or buying a house. Two of the events that have changed my life the most was moving to the United States and the joining the military. When I first arrived in the United States, I was only twelve years old.
